I'm looking at Axis Maglites for my S40. I'd like to go 17x7 for the wheel, but I'm not sure what size rubber to go for. Wheelmax.com offers a package with 205/40's (http://www.wheelmax.com/Wheels/Axis/axis.htm), but I think I might want some more rim protection. Is going wider going to give me problems? If I do bump up to 215, would I have to run a 45 series tire to fit? Thanks for whatever help you can offer!

I forgot to check for their reccomendation. Thanks. So if I did want to go wider, would I need to up the sidewall height from 45 to 50? And would doing that still allow clearance?<P>

240s40,<P>Go to discounttire.com, they give alternate 17" sizes I assume depending on the width of the rim, you may want to go wider or not.<BR> <A HREF="http://www.discounttiredirect.com/dtd/index.jsp" TARGET=_blank>http://www.discounttiredirect.com/dtd/index.jsp</A> <P>

Discount Tire does give several tire options per each rim. Most of the 17x7 wheel/tire packages they offer for the S40 include 215/40 rubber. That is what I was hoping to find. Thanks for the input! I've got what I need.<P>
