Hey New to this forum. I have been on Turbobricks for a couple months now and I was new to that site back this past Halloween when I got my 244.
Long story short I used to have a 1997 VW Passat GLX VR6 that was crushed by a tree during Tropical Storm Fay in FL.
Found the car on craigslist in the Orlando area.

The family had nothing but 240s when I was a kid. My Parents bought one and then everyone else who had kids in the family picked one up.

So after I got the car and my dad drove it up to me in Jacksonville. I cleaned it up and found a couple of intresting things just by opening the glovebox. It is a 1993 240 tourist and diplomat sales vehicle and the original USAA insuance card and info is still with the owners manual and the windsheild had stickers for security clearance and all. So I am assuming I am the second owner to the car since all the original paper work is intact in the driver's manual. I cleaned it up and have overhauled it totally so I could drive home this summer to New Orleans to Visit my mom here and other family since this is where I was born and grew up. This is also the first summer I have been able to come home and live since Katrina.
Here is the car all updated:

I just rolled 184k yesterday.

p.s. I am a photo minor so I tend to take and post alot of pics.

I do have one question about oil, I use synthetic only and 5w40 for it's ability to handle high heat here in the south. This past oil change I dropped in Shell Rotella T 5w40 syntehtic. I know it's for diesels but I figured the cleaning agents in it would clean out the crank and other parts of the engine. I am about to change my oil again with it. Is this product a bad idea? I also want to flush out the rearend and need a gasket? and what fluid is used?

As to the diff- look for a tag on the housing to see if it is a limited slip as such runs "non-standard" lube.
George Dill

Now... THAT is a really beautiful sedan!!!
Drive it in the best of health!
What you need next (Because I'm great at spending other peoples' money), are a set of Virgo rims to really set it off.
Absolutely beautiful Volvo. I can't emphasize that enough.
