Hey everyone!
I just picked up my first R this weekend... A 2004 titanium grey automatic s60R. I'm so excited about getting it. My cousin has a 2004 black s60R so my family is grabbing as many as we can hahaha.
The car has 58K on it, but I got it volvo certified to 100K so that's nice. Cuts down on the engine mods I can do, but I am looking at some body modifications already. I think I'm going to order the Heico aluminum doorlock pins just because I'm not a fan of the plastic ones in there now.
Only problem I've noticed is the underside of my front bumper seems a bit warped on the underside and it seems like the bumper could be a bit more flush on both sides (but mostly the left side when looking at the front). I did a Carfax search on it and it reports no accidents or anything. Since I've only had it for 5 days it's going into the dealership to get a new key coded to it and to get the registration sticker so they're going to look at it too. I'm hoping it's just a pin missing or something and that can get taken care of.
Other than that I'm incredibly happy and just wanted to say hi to everyone! I'm excited about being in this forum and hopefully contributing as much as I can. That said, I think I've written long enough. Thanks everyone!

congrats on the purchase and welcome to the forum. in regards to the bumper, more than likely the previous owner snagged the bumper on something. this has happened to alo of people with the newer R's being that the front end clearance is not to good. i know there's some sort of repair, maybe someone else can chime in on this. again, welcome!!

About 6-800 for a new bumper

New bumper usually not necessary unless you have the sport kit and have really fouled it up.

When I was looking at mine (bought it used) there was a big sag in the middle. One pin / screw had come out and was replaced and was fine.

titaniumR,

Before you buy the Heico pins, take a look at takspeed.com. I bought their aluminum door pins and I must say they look terrific! All for only $20 - the best $20 I have ever spent on my car. I personally don't like the Heico pins because of the soft finish and rounded corners (not as impressive looking IMHO). Not to mention, they are nearly three times the cost!!! Either way, replacement pins will be a big improvement if you screw them on enough that they flush out with the door panel when locked.

You picked the right color combo for your R - congrats on the purchase!!!

Thanks for the info everyone... I'm hoping that it can be a quick job in the shop saturday morning and I'm in and out with my registration, new key, and a flush bumper, I would be one happy man...

In regards to the door pins I was actually looking at the takspeed pins, nice to see someone likes them, I wasn't sure how they'd look so it's good to hear they look hot. I was thinkin about getting that R pen and the darker stem caps from takspeed as well... also maybe that awesome little swedish blue/yellow symbol for next to the R on the back and grille...

Also does anyone have the R hat from takspeed? What do you think?...I wanted to order one of those too...I wish they had the navy in stock, but I could settle for Gobi

Welcome fellow MA R owner

Where is Palmer, MA?

Palmer's neighbors are Belchertown, Brimfield, Ludlow, Monson, Springfield, Ware, Warren, Wilbraham.

I remember it on my trips up to UMass Amherst and back.

Oh man... thanks for the input with everything everyone. After checking out that older post about the front bumper that's exactly my problem and that's kind of discouraging. I guess if worse comes to worse I can do that screw thing like suggested.

Springfield for work eh George? I intern all summer long in Springfield. Yea, Palmer is in the Western part of Mass. Pretty nice small town, close to plenty of nice curvy, windy roads to rip around on and avoid as many cops as possible.

My car is going into Fathers and Sons saturday, they're pretty good/professional guys and they don't mess around with my family because we buy so many cars from them. Hopefully because of a little extra loyalty they'll fix it up if they can...

To you other Mass R owners...anyone headin down to Limerock this summer? I think I'm headed down for a weekend and I know my R and my cousins R will be there, it'd be pretty cool if I could figure out the date and a bunch of us could all meet up down there...
