I'm in a bit of a quandry. I had four perfectly good Pirelli tires on my volvo until I had the misfortune of having one destroyed by road debris. The tires are now 1.5 years old and have only 10,000 miles of wear on them.
I don't know if it's safe enough to buy a single tire to replace the one that blew or if I should replace two on the same axle or all four. I hear the AWD feature demands that the tires/wheels must be of same diameter and tread pattern to avoid damage to this system.

I understand that on the AWD cars you DO have to replace all four tires simultaneously, sad to say. Even fractional diametric differences on one or two tires can upset the drive system.
