I found myself visiting Devolv's build page a lot lately.. I really, really love those Axis wheels! What I like the best about them is that they blend the best of both worlds in Volvo, if you will -- the deep dish reminds me a lot of the beloved Polaris rims found on the 200/700/900s, while the spokes remind me of the Pegasus. But even better is the offset, 35mm. Amazingly, I no longer have any wheel rub issues, so this might be the perfect fit. I'm not sure exactly how much they weigh, but I have not noticed any loss of pep. I called up Wheel Studio about ordering a set, and they were happy to custom-order these Axis "Shine" wheels in 5x108, so they're a direct bolt-on fit for the R. The package came with a set of General G-Max 235/35/19s which are quiet on the highway and handle tremendously. Anyways, here are the results, and many thanks to Devolv for the inspiration to improve the look of my caR. -Scott in St. Louis

NICE! :beer::thumbup:

I'm no "tuner dude", but I know what I like when I see it.
Even better with a nice, shiny, black caR.

What are the roads like down in St. Louie? Up here, they seem to do a nice sledgehammer job on the 18-inch pegs, so I would never go the 19-inch route (but then again, maybe the pegs are kinda' soft and deform easier).

+1 :) Awesome, these wheels are underrated and don't look nearly as nice in photos as they are in person. Axis Shine's weight about 24lbs, so a tad lighter than the Pegs at 18". So there's a slight reduction of unsprung mass.

Welcome to the Axis Shine club (exclusively just the 2 of us) :D

The roads here (as long as you stay out of St. Louis City proper - not a good place for an R or any nice car for that matter) are acceptable for 19s, although towards December, I'm going to put the Pegs on for the winter as pothole season will be in full swing.

wow, i am really digging those wheels! how much did that set run you?
Just a hair under $2K for everything, that's wheels & tires with free lugs, rings, and shipping. I had to wait about 2 weeks as this was a custom order, but all-in-all, very good customer service. John, who handles "technical" questions at Wheel Studio (ext. 302) took my order and was very helpful. Would recommend them if anyone is looking for a set.

Negatory. I guess I could if I wanted to, but these bolt right on and the only thing needed are the little hub rings, which they included with my package.
