my S80 currently has 225-50-17's

looking for a wider profile ... discussions in other forums indicate that a 235-45-17 will fit (that tire size is actually available as an option)

has anyone put 235-50-17's on an S80

larger sidewall should inprove the ride and the 235 should give me more rubber on the road

BTW I'm heading towards a set of Turanza LS-Z's

235/45-17 would work with no issues. The S80 will handle a little better as well. As for the Turanza LS-Z's, great all season touring tire. Bridgestone has a rebate on those right now too.
