My front pads are getting low and I am wondering if I need to replace the rotors also. I have no vibration or pulsing so I am not worried about turing them. Does anyone have the threshhold number or at least what they start at. Any help would be appreciated. Here are my current specs:
L/F 1.233
R/F 1.231
R/R 1.078
L/R 1.083

Re: New Rotors? (Reno R)

Update:
I have plenty of life left in the Rotor. I know that volvo says these can not be turned but has anyone tried it? If the rotors are in good shape can I just replace the pads and not even turn them?

Sorry I can't answer your question I wanted to ask you a question: how many miles did you put on those pads?

You generally as a rule don't turn Volvo rotors, they last 50-70K miles

Re: New Rotors? (JRL)

JRL,
Do does that mean i can just put on new pads and will be fine? The dealer told me they put on new rotors every time they do pads. I have 32K on my car now.

All you have to do is pads.... If the rotors aren't uneven (pulsing) there is no need for anything else.

Re: New Rotors? (needsdecaf)

Thanks for the help. I am going to change the pads only at this point. Hopfully there will not be any sound.
