Hi all. I finally purchased a 2004 S60R after waiting and waiting for the combo I wanted. I now am the proud owner of a 2004 S60R 6spd, charcole gray with atacama. it has77,500 miles on it and I bought it sight unseen from colorado and had it shipped. i waited 2 weeks for it to arrive. it was the longest 2 weeks in my life. It was definately worth the wait. couple of things. If i drive over 30mph it sounds like I'm grating cheese out back. From what I have read it sounds like a wheel bearing and ipd will be getting my business. Also when I start the car it sounds like I have a loud exhaust leak for about a minute and it goes away. I put i on my lift and and it sounds like its coming from right off the engine block at a quick inspection. I was thinking of removing the center resonator to get some more perfomance and sound. any thougts? Any ideas of what i can use to deep clean the seats and door panels. it looks like the last owner had cleaned it Never. The car is a great car and I love it. My other cars are 70 cutlass sx 455 ram air car and a 72 442 convertable 4spd with a tunnel ram and duel quads gear drive etc. both haven't left my garage since my new purchase, and this thing is the best thing I have ever owned on fuel. Any input is very appreciated.

Re: New R Questions (J.T.)

Another local R owner!
- Probably a wheel bearing, known to go bad.
- Never heard of an exhaust leak, are you sure your center resonator isn't already removed? That'll make it extra loud on start up.
- And yes, remove the center resonator if it isn't already. Sound is awesome.
- Clean the leather with diluted woolite and water and treat it with lexol or high end tack treatments (sister rides, I get some good stuff!). Gentle cleaner is key.
welcome
as for the exhaust leak, see if you can tighten the manifold bolts. If that doesnt help, you might have a bad gasket - no big deal really.
Re: New R Questions (J.T.)

Thanks for all the good info. I placed an order with IPD for a new wheel bearing. (i am pretty sure it is the left, but i guess i will know when in install it) I checked and there is a center resonator. And i seafoamed my car thanks to the original post. My naighbors hate me now. I did my 442, my old 850R that I sold my friend and an Acura..( Looked like Cheech Maron lived here) .. People get very confused when they drive by my house. Quite a diverse selection of cars around my driveway. Also I saw one car and I cant find it now, it had a set of gauges on the plate by the sunroof. It looked real cool. Any leads on that would be appreciated. I was happy to find an origional filthy air filter in the car. I will place an order with volvo to get one. I'm sure I will feel the difference.

Re: New R Questions (volvofla)

I'll take some and get them up soon. I just painted all of the black trim with a trim paint. Looks amazing. I hear people color matching the trim to the color of the car, but the black trim with the grey car looks sweet. Does anyone know the color of the car its a charcole gray.
Thanks
