New Owner Checking In!! (Updated Pics)

Hey Guys,

I just picked up my 04 Ti Gray/Custom Gobi last week and wanted to come on and say hello to you all as well as post some pics.

I really do like the car. I am coming from a long line of German auto's, but needed to go with something a little more affordable.

I picked it up for $12,125.00

I think I got a pretty good deal. It does have 73K on the clock, but has an extended warranty good for 4yrs or 48K.

Well hello again and I look forward to interacting with you all in the future.

Thanks,

2004 S60R

Welcome to the SS!!

Note: Your handle would have been 200% more awesome if it started with "A"
Looks like you've got custom exhaust, custom seats, and some sort of aluminum trim on the interior. the grill is a bit odd but I dig it. Also like the "R" pinstripe and spoiler. All in all, looks like you got a nice deal...wonder if its been chipped.

Thanks for the comments!!

I didnt even know that the seats were custom..
I had an idea on the exhaust, although I think it is just a custom tip and what about the aluminum tirm is custom...

Any way to find out if it is chipped?

Thanks!

The click you're hearing/feeling is the disengaging of the mechanism that prevents you from putting the car in reverse. It engages once you reach a certain speed (not sure what the exact speed is off the top of my head) and remains engaged until you again slow to below that speed, i.e., as you roll to a stop.

Nice ride!

I kinda like the R in the pinstripe... Kinda.

This is how you're interior as a stock 04 SHOULD look:

It's not just the seats, the guys were pointing out the aluminum-look trim pieces in your console and dash vents, etc. Those aren't stock.

The exhaust looks like it might be the Eurosport, it's a really smooth sounding exhaust, very nice. http://********************/smile/emthup.gif

Yeah got that too... All sorts of surprises today.

Does the Eurosport exhaust have any way to identify it? Imprint in the stainless?

Very nice Chad, good luck with her.
Looks like a pretty good deal to me...any engine bay pics...might have some more aftermarket goodies hiding in there.

I will snap a couple and post tomorrow. It is snowing out right now.
Re: (CSlater21)

I highly recommend taking it to your local Volvo dealer and having it looked over very closely. With the amount of aftermarket parks, there is that chance that the car was beat on hard and it might need some work to get to what IPD calls "stage zero." Taking care of the small things now will extend the life of that R for sure. I got rid of my first R with a little over 82k and it had a mysterious boost issue.

The R looks good though and I think you got a good deal. Welcome to SS! http://********************/smile/emthup.gif

With all those aftermarket parts I'm surprised no one knows who's car this was. Got any more info on where you got it? If not someone here, maybe someone on S60R.com will know who it used to belong to.

Best way to find out if it was well taken care of would be to find the PO, or the PO's archive posts on an online forum.
Re: (heus33)

Quite the unique find in this car. I like the subtle "R" in the pinstripe. The price you paid was a STEAL; car looks great. Congrats and Welcome!

Thanks for the comments. I will be going by a dealer very soon to see what, if any issues have been addressed. I did have a PPI done by Daisywagon motors, a great, reputable Volvo only shop, before I purchased it and checked out ok. Has a small leak, that they believe is the cam shaft seals. I will be getting it fixed this week.

I am the second owner and it has been owned in WA the entire time.

Thanks for the comments! I am really happy with it thus far. I am taking it easy until I get the "clean bill of health" from my service center and dealer.

Once I get the nod on the mechanical side, I will be doing a full synthetic swap on all fludis. Once completed I will begin the journey into creating some more power.

Suggestions on the route I should take? I am looking to increase both power and handling. I will be looking to do the occasional track day at PR here in WA and PIR down in OR.
