03 40's hare starting to hit the dealerships with the new integrated key/remote. Very nice. Sorry, no pics as of yet. ITs a shame that they will be a running change for the rest of the series.
Hmmm. I wonder what it would cost to get these for my 02 XC?

Yes, a picture would be great. Wasn't there one here a while back? (Anyone, anyone?) Do you think it's something you COULD get on an '02? If so, about how much do you think it would cost? Maybe it would be simply the cost of the key, plus the cost to re-program the key, which is around $250, right? Just wondering...
[This message has been edited by Lisa62 (edited 09-05-2002).]

I'd post a pic of my Golf's key, but I'll be too busy kicking Yannis' A$$!
You may want to check on that. I just bought a newer design key for my Golf (the older one the ring comes off too easily, no busting Yannis), but the dealer said it MAY or MAY NOT work because there was some running change for VW. Not positive, but I'm sure someone will check soon enough.

Here is the Audi switchblade, it looks something like this, but with different button design and a little smaller I think.

-Drew

Personally I'd like it if it had a built-in LED flashlight. heck, it's just another button and the LED. Sure, you can hit the button to turn on the approach lighting, but you have to be somewhat near the car for you to see anything. The flashlight would double as an extra feature, say if you dropped something in the movie theater and wanted to find it.
Just a thought. I carry one on my key ring anyway, so this would help me unclutter things a bit.

The key for the S60R/V70R and other models will have have three more buttons, a red panic triangle, yellow pathway lighting circle, and trunk release button.
I think on the Audi/VW switchblade, the panic button and trunk release is on the side.

-Drew

Re: (Phil Pugliese)

For a bit of comparison, the following image is the key for the new Saab 9-3. The key itself is that stubby, grey part. And yes, it still goes between the seats.

Re: (Ari)

That's one thing that I love about Saabs... I get in and people are shocked that the key goes down there :D
