So if understand correctly, the strut ball bearings are not sealed... I could be wrong, mine are coming later today. So does it make sense to add additional grease?
I restore older mountain bikes for fun/hobby and when I deal with ball bearings I plaster them with heavy duty grease regardless of seals and whatnot. The only drawback is that the extra grease can attract more dirt.
On the same note, modern maintain bikes and motorcycles don't have rubber boots on the shocks anymore for the same reason - they can trap dirt and contribute to the shocks deterioration.
