This is a first for me, but also maybe because it's an automatic?

I replaced the downpipe, cat and cat-back exhaust on my car this year ('04 VR GT) and I've noticed that the car seems to drive slightly differently now. After a few months, it seems as though the trans does not want to downshift as often and in other cases, will hold gear longer than it did before.

I don't have any error codes and the transmission shifts fine, just wondering if the big decrease in backpressure causes the engine computer to act differently and thus affect the transmission as well.

It hasn't done much of anything for city mileage, but all of the exhaust changes seem to have made highway mileage increase significantly.

I wouldn't think so but I suppose it's possible since you're changing the power curve a bit. Mine's a manual so I can't compare. However, I didn't notice any obvious changes like that on my S70.
