Hello XC60 friends ...

New owner as of yesterday of a Denim Blue / Amber 2019 T5 Momentum

Coming from a first year new gen 2016 XC90 (and previously a 2003 S80) and I have to say 4 years later and this 2019 is so much better put together.
To be fair the XC90 was actually pretty bulletproof for me but the interior was noisy and the ride was less refined than this 2019

Love the seat position on the XC60 also as it brings me back closer to the ground and feels more car like.

Here it is next to my father-in-laws Forester XT ...

OP, congrats on the new ride. Looks great, and it’s terrific to hear your first impressions are so positive compared to your former XC. I’m still waiting for the build date of my 2020 Denim Blue T8 with Blonde interior — can’t wait, as I really don’t want to read the Owner’s Manual for a 3rd time keeping myself busy in with anticipation! ;)

Congrats!

I've got a 2018 XC60 T6 Inscription in Denim Blue/Amber and love the color combination. I really like the looks of the 20" Momentum wheels, they look more sporty than the 20" Inscription wheels.

Loving the car so far ... still can't get over how much better it drives over my 16 XC90

I do have a weird possible glitch however. When I shut off the car with the Start/Stop Knob, engine shuts off but "sometimes" ... doesn't happen all the time ... I get this message in the driver display window that "vehicle is active - ignition is on" ... if radio was playing, it goes silent but then comes back on when the message appears.
If I turn the knob one more time off, message goes away ...

Other times, everything just shuts off, and radio as well and message does not appear.

Completely random as to what happens at shut down.

if I leave the car and just lock the door everything is fine and car just goes dark and locks as usual ... but just wondering about the randomness of this message.

3 month update here ... the car has been flawless so far and I put it through hell in NYC traffic daily.

Just did a 250 mile hwy run and it's so much more quiet, planted and responsive than our outgoing XC90 was ... totally different car.
And oddly even though it is smaller than the XC90 and I am 6'7" the seats feel more comfortable on long rides.
Digging it so far.

@lurch70, Exciting to hear. Thx for reporting positive news. It’s amazing your impression on the interior roominess and seats, with your height. I’m not quite 6’ in comparison, but knew I had plenty of room all around before I placed my order — but not THAT much! Wow. Keep enjoying your XC60!

Assuming all goes well with dealer prep tomorrow morning, I should take delivery on my Denim Blue XC60 T8 Inscription tomorrow afternoon, after 109 days of waiting (not that I’ve been counting, or watching the ship cross the Atlantic and into the Pacific for the past month.) I can’t wait to officially join the club. :D

It is always good to hear positive reviews. In my case, almost 13 months and 9500 miles later, it's been trouble free after a few glitches in the first 2 weeks.
I love the way it looks inside and out and feel slightly smug that they aren't commonplace.

@bertl, hope all goes well for you tomorrow.. I still remember when you got your slk. Is your dealer in Escondido again?

Very nice ride and the color is stunning! Congratulations!

:D Wow, that's really fun and unexpected to reconnect with you on another boutique ride. I miss my fun little SLK, but looking forward to my completely different and more practical XC60 T8 -- just keeping my fingers crossed it was ordered correctly (opposed to the MBZ that originally arrived missing the Distronic/Safety pkgs I wanted, necessitating another 5 month wait for the right-optioned SLK to arrive.)

My Volvo dealership is just 10 mins away from me here in Carlsbad, and I've got a Sales Rep that has been selling Volvo at that same place for 27+ years, so it's not her first rodeo (my future Service Advisor has her beat with 28 years.) As I did with my SLK back in the day, I have an outline drafted for a very long XC60 "first impressions" review -- that will be posted as a new thread here in a couple weeks. Thx for reconnecting!

I can't say it has "more room" than the XC90 for the driver, although if you look strictly at official dimensions it is negligible. It's the seating position really that's different. You "sit up" in the XC90 and the XC60 is more of a lower, sink in position ... more car like ... which I always preferred.

Denim blue is my favorite Volvo color (besides the more sporty blue on the R-type).

I could not get the combo you have (blue with amber) in my area. Oddly, the dealer lots only had that in a t5 not a t6. The only T6 Denim blues I could find had blonde interiors. I didn't have time to special order because of the COSTCO deal so I "settled" for my second choice exterior color (Pine Gray) to get my first choice interior color (Maroon brown).

I'm leasing, and the next will likely be Denim Blue with Maroon interior.
