Hi all,
After numerous issues with my new shape S40... I am getting a refund on credit most likely. I wanted a D5 S40 but its not out here yet and will be very expensive.
so I'm going to put it on a S60 D5 SE.
I have tried to use the search feature but it just doesnt work for me and finds no results for anything i search for.
Does anyone own one... any major issues? It will be a 2004/2005 car.
How much maintenance is it compared to the S40 if any?
The main one is how much the fuel consumption it is... more to the point, how much from a full tank would you get in mileage?
I get 320 from the 2.4 petrol S40 which has a 60litre tank. This is highway/local combined with an average of 25.4mpg.
Anything I need to look out for?
Also what does SE cover... is it just leathers? Does heated seats only come with winter pack/
Sorry for the number of Q's which I'm sure I'll repeat tomorrow at the garage but thought if i get the ball rolling...
Thanks all

Re: New D5 S60 (Akash)

Just bought a 2004 S60 D5 SE, and very pleased with it.
Got 550 miles on 1 tank, mostly commuting with a couple of longish runs, and averaged 41 mpg.

Got the car yesterday
Love it... got two minor problems that their "81 point check" missed out
left fog light is dead and the bit where the speed for auto wipers (or it might be how sensitive they are) has popped out or something
the wheel is very difficult to turn.
otherwise, its a beauty

Congratulations on your new S60!
Wow, 40+ mpg -- I'm so jealous! Unfortunately, diesel is not available here in the US.
My wife had her S60 for almost 2 years now and it is a beautiful machine. Every so often, she even lets me drive it!

I heard you guys have not got diesel... any reason for that?
Its driving very nicely. I fixed the wiper stalk... it had just popped out
the bulb I need to take it in unless its cheaper (as far as not driving to them and getting it fixed for free) to change it myself.
Now I just need to find out how to make the steerignwheel turn more than it does (yes it is a joke on how bad the turning circle is)
I don't think you can turn the wheels any further without rubbing. My wife jokingly refers to the turning circle as turning the Queen Elizabeth (the transatlantic). The reason is fuel pricing and so evolved Diesel engines. I could run 1000km (625 miles) with one tank (70l)
I own a S60 D5 '01 (163 hp). If you do more than 25000 km/year buying Diesel Vs cheaper Petrol models takes sense.
See you

Hey Vertex, you're getting more than me.
you must do most of your drivign on motorways
Mines mainly on motorways but a selection on local so I get around 550 ish
I've yet to hit 600
Diesel here has shot up since I got my car. Its gone over a pound a litre which is bad but again, I see petrol cars in the petrol station a lot sooner than me because of the double capacity D5 gives against a petrol
