I have been very happy with my C70 choice (bought a 2007 in January 2007), but whenever a new 4-seat convertible model comes out I do a sort of "would it have changed my decision?" internal questioning.
The BMW 3 and 1-series convertibles didn't make me question anything (the 3-series came out a bit after I bought our C70, and I liked it a lot, but the price increase wasn't worth it to me).
Now we have the recently-introduced Infiniti G37 convertible, and the soon-to-be-released Audi A5 cabriolet, and Lexus IS convertible.
I had always thought that a convertible G37 (or G35 at the time) would have been a very compelling option, and of the three new cars named above, it is the one that would have piqued my interest the most. I haven't seen real pricing for it yet (maybe it's on the Infiniti website), but my feeling is that it will be a non-trivial amount higher than the C70. It will also be significantly faster, and presumably better handling with RWD. But, I don't know if I'd necessarily pick it.
The Audi sounds nice enough, but they are sticking with a cloth top - and it also will be higher priced. I gave serious thought to an A4-cab (2.0T engine) when I bought our C70, as it was price competitive, and very nice, but the C70's retractable hardtop won me over. The A5 version will be more money, with no real advantage over the previous A4 (I don't even know if it's any roomier). So I don't think it would change my decision.
The Lexus IS conv. (both in 250 and 350 form) sounds interesting, and I know the least about it at the moment, both in terms of anticipated price, and other details. My guess is that it will be nice enough, but probably will be too small, with too small a back seat for all but little kids.
The other future wild card is what Volvo will be doing for the refresh of the C70 (2011 model year?).
But for now, I still like the C70 choice made 2+ years ago....

Re: New convertible choices (BlackC70)

Went through the exact same analysis when I bought my C70 last October. Drove a 335i hardtop--great fun, very fast, but RWD in sometimes snow/ice conditions were a downside, higher cost to acquire/insure and fact that BMWs are everywhere turned me away.
Owned an Audi at the time, really wanted an S4 cab, but couldn't fathom doing a cloth top and the interior was identical to my 03 Allroad and wanted a change.
Infiniti/Lexus--agree on your pricing analysis, not to mention waiting for it and dealing with the hype that always surrounds a new offering (price inflation) and again, RWD issue. I hear talk of an AWD model, but don't think that is in year 1 of the line.
Felt the C70 had the best looks of the group with the top up (a rarity if I can avoid it), but nevertheless important. With two children, needed some rear seat room--check. FWD--works ok in the snow/ice despite my 18" wheels. (Granted, its no Audi, but I'll take that tradeoff).
Any regrets? No, I love the car. What would I change--still not a big fan of the basic interior--definitely not as nice as the BMW or Audi in my opinion. But, its the best compromise option out there for someone like me that refuses to own multiple cars. Still happy with my purchase as well.
