Just an FYI for West Coast customers:

Starting in April 2013, SAS will start a non-stop flight between Copenhagen and San Francisco.

EDIT: this flight will occur 6x per week, starting April 8, 2013. Also in April 2013, specifically starting April 1, 2013, SAS will increase their Copenhagen to New York (EWR) weekly flights by flying twice daily, 3x a week.

Yes, this is great news for those of us on the West Coast. But there is good news for those on the East Coast as SAS will also add extra flights to and from Copenhagen and New York next year.

Here's more info:

Scandinavian Airlines will launch new a new route to San Francisco and add flights to New York (Newark) next year. SAS will operate six weekly flights directly from Copenhagen to San Francisco beginning April 8, 2013. At the same time SAS will also expand its Copenhagen to New York service with three additional evening flights per week.

Copenhagen will again have a direct link to the US west coast. Currently SAS operates nonstop service from Copenhagen, Oslo and Stockholm to New York, as well from Copenhagen and Stockholm to Chicago, and Copenhagen to Washington, DC.

"San Francisco has a very attractive airport and the best point of access to the west coast, offering customers connections to many other destinations in the Star Alliance network," explains Per Moller Jensen, Vice President Marketing at SAS.

SAS and San Francisco

- SAS will depart from Copenhagen daily, except Tuesdays, at 12:25 pm, arriving San Francisco at 2:24 pm the same day. Departure from San Francisco to Copenhagen also daily, except Tuesdays, at 5:35 pm arriving the next day in Copenhagen at 1:15 pm.

- Flying time will be 11 hours and 20 minutes. These departure times provide the best transfer opportunities to other destinations in Scandinavia and Northern Europe.

Along with the new San Francisco route, SAS has announced an expansion of its flights to New York (Newark) from Copenhagen. From April 1, 2013 SAS will operate two daily flights three days a week. SAS already services New York with one daily flight.

SAS and New York

- Departure from Copenhagen will be at 6 pm and arriving Newark at 8:50 pm the same day. The late Copenhagen service will depart Newark at 11:30 pm and arrive in Copenhagen the next day at 1:15 pm. It will be the last flight departure from Newark to Europe.

- The evening Newark flight will operate Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays.

On its non-stop transatlantic flights, SAS offers wide-body Airbus A330 and A340 aircraft, audio/video entertainment at every seat and EuroBonus frequent flyer points. For the past 3 years, SAS was ranked Europe's most punctual airline according to flightstats.com.

Still pissed at SAS for removing their oldest international flight - SEA CPH.
But good to have SAS back on the left coast....now let's retire those A343's....the pig of widebody jets :)

I flew on an A343 coming back from the Philippines in 2009 and holy cow it took FOREVER taking off and it climbed so slow.

Hopefully SAS to starts up LAX too, they had the route for awhile in the 70s/80s and would really like to try them out.

Oh and quick question for the OSD specialists, can you still pick up a roof spoiler via OSD for the base C30? I couldn't find it on the accessories list or the order guide.
