Bought a 740 wagon from what I'm discovering is a pretty shady dealer. Be that as it may, this is my second Volvo, first was a total crap-out V70R, but I still like the cars and am mechanical anyway. What I'd like to know is what should I check the most on my new car when it arrives? 76K miles and looks OK. The car's seem simpler to work on and I'm not seeing prices of standard parts as too scary.
Plan is to put in a good sound system and debug any A/C issues. Auto tranny, do I flush now or flush only if the fluid is dirty? The ABS computer, can I have it re-manned like I had the V70 done? I'd like it to handle well so I plan some suspension mods/upgrades, mainly new struts, anti-roll bars, things like that. Will the car benefit greatly from a strut tower brace, Cold air intake? Fancy Exhaust system? I plan to commute 100 miles a day with the car, highway miles, what can I hope for mileage-wise?
Hope to be an active member here again. Thanks.
