Don't you guys have Discount Tire in SoCal??? That's where I got mine here in Michigan.
Tire stores are like Volvo service departments ... not all of the same brand are equal. Find a few of the closest locations and go see 'em to make sure you are comfortable dealing with them. Check out the service area for nice clean equipment.

That would depend a lot on the model you are talking about. There were complaints about the early models they brought here, but the Ecsta ASX is a really good tire for very little money. However, I can't imagine why you would want an all-season radial in SoCal .

Re: (Quick Brick)

I have the ASX's on year round in 18". I strayed and recently dropped 1400.00 on Goodyear Eagle F1's. The grip was better (not much) and the wet traction was as well. (again not much) With the F1's the ride was very firm (felt every little road imperfection) and the flat spotting was bad as well. I put 500 miles on them and now they sit in my garage. With the ASX's I am sacraficing some of the grip and wet traction BUT the ride is soooooooooooo much better. I started to disslike my car after the F1's were installed (because of the ride quality). Then I fell in love with my car all over again with the ASX's on. They are just a more comfortable tire for my daily commuting. And the treadwear is great. I should get mileage out of the ASX's that would have equated to buying 2 sets of the F1's. Just my 2c's, Rick Discount tire is the place to go!

Re: (Mash)

The ASX Kumho's are a good tire for the money. I will have gotten 30k miles on the set I put on the R after the OEM Pirelli's wore out at 20k. Not as good as I expected, but better than the Pirelli's. The price on these can't be beat, and they work pretty good in light snow. The ride quality is very good and they are quiet as well. Granted, the grip is less than the Pirelli's, but for 95% of my driving, that's OK with me. I don't track my car so grip is pretty much subjective anyway. Never felt like they let me down and it makes the entrance ramps interesting for drifting slightly. Pretty predictable breakaway. If you don't mind spending $1000 for a replacement set of tires, get the Michelins, but for $500, you could do worse than the Kuhmos.

Or if you would like, there's a little mom & pop shop on Arrow Hwy in the city of Azusa that's probably very close by you that has very good prices. If they don't have Kumhos in stock, he will order them for you.
