Hey all, just looking for some advice. I currently have 18x7.5 Medeas with an outrageous offset of 52.5 (the wheels aren't as flush with the fenders as I'd like them to be). My options are to either A.) keep them and have them powdercoated a nice gunmetal/anthracite and add spacers (after all, they are BBS) B.) find some 19x8(.5)! Either way, I've always wanted gunmetal wheels to go with my car (and AJ's ride made me seal the deal). ANY opinions would be extremely helpful. Thanks.

Dude, I say powder coat those bad boys! I love those wheels, I think they are my favorite OEM, and your car looks almost perfect how it is, the gunmetal would be the icing on the cake. to powder coat!

Re: (Veefifty T5AWD)

Thanks for the compliments guys, looks like I'll be powdercoating these babies. First I need to get two of the lips refinished (curbed ). As for bringing the wheels out, does anyone have any solutions to suggest (spacers other than pricey Heicos)?

Re: Need some wheel advice (not another size question). (Revolve40)

H&R makes some pretty nice spacers... My buddy has them on his audi and they fit and work perfectly... (and add another +1 to the powdercoat if you're still going back and forth with it)

Re: Need some wheel advice (ForceFed Motorsports)

The only thing that keeps me from simply powdercoating my existing wheels is +48 19x8 Work XSA 02s. The wheels Turboah is selling... Except I might get my own in gunmetal... Thoughts?

I have spacers on mine (due in part to the Heico BBK).
Just add spacers (I'm using 15mm or 17mm custom made spacers front and back), powder coat the wheels and you're done.

Never hurts to mention/ask. It would clear up the decision he has to make so just thought I would be a gentleman and help him out.

Yes, gunmetal. And some spacers, 5mm Front, 15 Rear. And I think you should throw mine and AJ's names in a hat a draw to decide who you give them to.

Re: Need some wheel advice (sanatarium)

LOL, I am down for that. 50/50 chance of getting some nice free wheels? Sounds good to me.
But seriously, if you have the money and you really want to go from the 18"s to the 19"s then I say buy Warren's (turboah) wheels and get them powder coated. His price is very reasonable and he is a great guy, to order the same wheels would probably cost $500+ more, might as well help out a fellow SSer.
I'm actually tempted to move down to 18"s after driving through some nast road construction areas and cringing every 10 seconds. That said, my relatively inexpensive ADRs have held up to nasty potholes and edges better than any other wheel I've owned...

Re: Need some wheel advice (carreragt7)

Haha, you guys are great. I'd first like to say if I WERE to GIVE these wheels away, I'd give two to Sana and two to Carrera. Also, if I did want to go with the Works, I'd definitely buy turboahs because I'd be able to see how the gold would look before I got them powdercoated.
@MrJo: How did you go about getting custom spacers made?

Re: Need some wheel advice (Revolve40)

Revolve40
I went to the wheel repair facility (one of, if not the biggest wheel repair facility in Iberia - Portugal + Spain) and they made custom spacers from forged (don't know if this is the correct way to say it) blanks they have there.
I said the specs i wanted.
5x108 bolt pattern
63.3mm centerhole
17mm thick.
They are as good as any H&R, eibach, eagle... etc spacers, but with custom dimensions and far cheaper.
4 spacers for 150euro. (thats about 200usd). And I'm talking about measures up to 20-25mm
Re: Need some wheel advice (mJrO)

That's great information. Do your wheels (specifically the rear ones) look flush at the top of the fender well? That are is my main concern. Thanks.
