Re: need some help interior (Elmoworld)

Can't help - but I'm interested in knowing as well. I want to cover that flip lid with a leather wrap.

It comes right off, just wiggle and pull a bit
I've modified two of these, I make the lid a removable lid thus making the cupholders actually work as cupholders without that stupid lid in the way

I stupidly hit my cupholder door with my attache a couple of months ago and the door has been "floppy" ever since. I believe there was a spring involved in the mechanism that has dropped into the deep abyss that is the center console...
Like Barry, I look forward to hearing how your removal goes...
- Tryg

Very little chance they broke loose and are lost.
You could probably remove the assembly (requires center console dissassembly) and reseat the spring(s) behind the guide pins.

You'll find a plastic screw on each panel hidden between the seats and the center console. If you can get this screw out (hopefully without needing to remove the seats) the panels should slide back and out easily. I am hopeful that you would then be able to see how the other pieces fit together. Be careful when removing these two panels as there is an L-shaped tab holding the middle of the panel tightly against the console.
Please note I am no expert when it comes to this console. I only know about these two panels because my dealer mangled several pieces while addressing a shifter rattle a few months ago, one of them being the long panel on the passenger side of the console. The L-shaped tab is now bent and the panel is nice and loose.
A writeup (or photo essay) detailing out your experience would be a great addition to the archives...
- Tryg
