Sorry for long post lol. But I need some guidance and im hoping some of u guys can help lol. TIA
I'm looking at crutchfield for a head unit w touchscreen. Was going to get it direct from them and they offer a pre-wired plug and play harness...do any of you guys have an aftermarket sterio and know if the center speaker (in dashboard under windshield) will still be hooked up? I have an 06 with the hu-850 and the speaker apparently plugs directly into that headunit. Dont know if they will be able to keep it when they build the harness for the touchscreen. Was wondering if u guys could give some input cuz Ive gotten 2 grom units and both stopped working after a week or 2....upgrade time lol

Am also looking to add performance stuff, and i currently have a hilton stage 2 tune. Do you guys know if i can get it all installed and re-tuned at any high rep tuner, or do i need to go to someone who knows these cars. Nobody really does volvos around me, it's mostly subaru audi and bmw builders/tuner shops.

The basics im trying to do are - fmic (phuzzy was original choice, have been told not to get them by a few people, looking at snabb now, any Rec's appreciated), ipd 4t4 turbo, ipd turboback exhaust, elevate sleeves (can an experienced builder disassemble engine np and send it to elevate for their sleeves?), the entire front steering basically from IPD, both headlight ballasts, angle gear (not needed but will do anyway), elevate lowered suspension with 4c compatibility....and ill obviously need a tune. Will also most likely need awd serviced, parking sensors don't work and neither does the alarm. Am also getting an anti skid warning light...was going to get a hilton stage 2+ along with all that, but im thinking maybe that if im going to a place with a dyno theyll get more out of it tuning it themselves. But can any high rep place do all this if i get them the the VIDA or DICE or whatever, or do i need to send it to a specialist in like Oregon or something. Thank u for any help

If you’re close by, Rolling Motors is a one stop shop basically for anything performance related! I took my R there for an engine swap+a ton of other maintenance and little work, and they did an absolutely fantastic job. They also have an in house tuner, Steveo, and he works magic with these cars. I’m still on the stock turbo, but this thing flies after the work I had done! I would also highly recommend the ported+polished head with valve job, the power band of the car is much wider and linear after having it done.

fast forward to 10:30, he kind of explains it.

Center speaker, I have done this on other cars in the past that didn't have a center.. I believe you can bridge the positive on the right speaker and the negative on the left speaker to get "mono" sound to the center.

I will be putting in a new stereo soon and was curious as well, I like the sound.

Contrast tune.

yea his name has come up a lot but I've had a few people tell me it'll take a long time. Maybe you can correct me. Everybody was happy, but also everybody wants to go to him so I'm assuming he's really busy. He saw a post I put up on facebook asking for someone who can do a full build...told me to message him, and I've now messaged him twice, and he basically says he'll get back to me each time. I was debating calling him at this point but I've had people message me saying 2 years, 1 year, etc etc. Starting to think it may be true for what I truly want to happen lol. I've seen all the shifting lanes videos, most of his fcp euro stuff, and it'd be awesome to have him to do this build. I basically told him that I wanted a 600hp beast (if it's possible) and I told him what my budget was (higher than the shifting lanes car). But he hasn't responded. Just reads it lol. Idk maybe that's not possible and he thinks i'm nuts. But I'm told that all the parts I'm getting should put me close to 550 or 600 crank with a good tune. I didn't tell him the parts I just told him the 600hp cuz i figure he knows the best way to do it. But maybe he thinks I'm a lunatic for potentially putting $40k into an s60r and that I'm just full of it. I bought the car literally to build and I'm having a harder time than I thought I would. I haven't asked the high rep tuner shops around here, but IPD has mostly bolt on solutions so it can't be too hard. I've been mostly posting on every forum I can find and Ben is like half of my answers lol

600HP on a R block, yeah kinda nuts. Won't be very streetable due to the size of the turbo needed to flow that much air and lag from such big turbo will make the car rather slow really. I could see that if you were going for one of those flying mile races but not on the street, you would be highly disappointed in a 600HP 2.5L. Besides snapping axles and busting transmission/angle gear when it does finally shift at high rpm. There are a few that have done it so its possible sure but just not practical except a few suicide runs. If you dig around this forum you will find lots of good info. Facebook groups are mostly cancer and info is mostly made up trash talk.

I would start with a 400HP goal which can safely be done with a 2.4L T5 block and some bolt ons, K24 with upgraded billet 11 blade compressor wheel, catless DP, elevate exhaust or similar but elevate sounds fantastic and little to no drone compared to IPD drone happy non engineered exhaust, Do88 intercooler, bigger injectors and Audi MAF. Add Meth for safety and get a Stage 3 custom tune from Hilton and you'll be right close to 400HP and ready to blow up axles and angle gears like the rest of us have. I sold my last built S60 last Xmas and no plans to go back as there are just way too many issues with P2Rs and they do not age well. Plus crayon smell. Blah.

Yea I was getting the 600hp number from all the builds and stuff that are showing 450-550hp. I was thinking I could probably get to 600 without much of an issue (beyond going broke). Ben did get back to me and I'm gonna call him end of week. He told me that I'm basically going to need for him to build me an engine. Rods, pistons, whatever else is in there (i dont know enough to say), but that it'll basically be a race engine (from the sounds of it). I think I'll have to go lower because I didn't have any intention of swapping out my motor lol. I'm going to see what he says the most reliable hp i can get is. But if there's a way around lag (twin turbo options? Maybe the built engine will automatically have natural hp?) then 600 is doable from the sounds of it. Just expensive af lmao. It's not going to be my daily driver but I would like to keep it capable of being one since it's a volvo and otherwise it'd be stupid imo. There's no race track or drag strip anywhere near me and I'm not about to tow it everywhere lol. Closest one is almost 2 hours away. So it needs to be somewhat useful on the street
