Okay so I have been struggling with my mirrors for awhile now, so about 3 days ago, I decided it would be good to redo my mirror paint jobs as they were looking pretty bad.
I spent about an hour sanding, then hours doing coats, then I come outside to see that the wind (D'oh!) has blown it over into the dirt and it was apparently wet when this happened and it was ruined.
Sanding didn't help it so I read an online guide and it said to submerge the piece of plastic in Clorox for 4 hours. I did, nothing happened. I then waited 3 days and here I am:

(obviously I sanded quite a bit)
Preferably I would like it professionaly painted black.
Classifieds haven't been much help, but I can't find anywhere online that sells these for under 100$, what should I do?

What grit sandpaper are you using? Try a heavier one. Are you sanding by hand or by machine?
I have a set of 05 mirrors but was planning on keeping them in case I had any issues with my 07 style mirrors. If you can't get this figured out before the GTG maybe we can work something out and I can bring my caps to to it...

Re: (carreragt7)

I've tried 100 and 320 and doing it by hand with a little block.
Kinda of embarrassing, looks horrible and the pine sol really messed it up.
Well I don't take your mirrors but we'll see, I'm going to continue sanding it for
the time being.

Re: (genjy)

The silver is the actual electric silver paint from Volvo.
But the mos recent paint is Duplicolor Black Semi glossy trim paint.
