My used 1998 Volvo Wagon came with two Volvo crossbars but not the tool that loosens them. My local Volvo mechanic said it was a Thule rack and it is their problem. I spoke to Thule USA (I sent photos of the rack) and they said it was made by Thule Europe as an OEM product for Volvo. I called Volvo USA and thay said they have no spare parts (or tools) even if they did sell it as an OEM part. Does anyone know what tool can open these crossbars?
Here is a link to photos of the crossbars http://www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/
I appreciate your help.
Its most likely a Torx driver with a hole in the center to allow it to fit into the screw head.
Your link to the picture is no good so I'm just guessing.
