I saw an ad in autotrader for a 1994 760, but as far as I'm aware they were made in 94.

I'm guessing by the rims that it's an earlier model 760.
Is there anyway to tell the model trim by exterior trim identifiers for these models? IE, can you tell the trim by the rims or color matched trim? If it has leather and a sunroof is it a particular trim level?
Thanks in advance

Welcome to Swedespeed, Brian.
Best bet would be to contact the seller and ask for the VIN.
You can click around on this for pics of different years of 760 Volvos...
http://www.edmunds.com/used/19....html
George Dill

That is not at all a 760, it would be an 850 wagon. It is front wheel drive and powered by an inline 5-cylinder.

Yes it might be a FWD 850 in 94, not any RWD 700 thou a 900 it might be. Tail lights would give it away thou. 700/900 short rectangle lights. 850's have tail lights that are tall and up by glass as well on sides. MY 96 965 is RED just like that and looks JUST LIKE THAT. But with the right rims on it. Might be a 94 960 that would look JUST like a 760. But the hood would be one piece with under cowl mount wipers like this and mine is too. Where the 760 would be two piece hood with top mount thru body color vent shield wipers like my 744 is. My door handles do not have KEY hole in them either like 700-900's do. This all the more make it looks like a 850 with the handels with key holes in them.

It is with out a doubt an 850. They all had texured rub strips. In '98, when the changed to the S/V70 they were color matched. That is in no way a RWD 2/7/900. It doesn't really even look like one.

Well I tend to agree valvesprung. But if you drove a 96 965 in the same color bright ass red (as I do) you would see that it could have been. Thou I gave many reasons it might not and what you look for. One bad (on my screen it is slighty fuzzy) side view pic and no tech info forthcoming does not make for a slam dunk "it doesn't really even look like one". AS for the rub mouldings have you ever seen a car that had replacements and they were not painted? would they not be black? After four years at most NO OEM colored moulding comes that way blended (color mixed thruout material) in color. ALL are black and need to be painted to match. Or might not the owner be lazy and cheap after a accident or glue drys and they start to fall off. Gee that NEVER happens do it? Or even liked the black better and retro them? Think. Also 740 and or 940 seris low trim line cars steel rims and wheel covers will fit a 960. And make it look very much like that in ghetto trim. With out the fancy alloy rim choices for most years.
