Something that will last, for less than $200, nope. Your best bet is to get some garage gasket or build something on your own. Maybe try your hand at a C30 lip mod?

I believe the conclusion (after a very delayed seller response) was that the e-bay lip is not built from high quality materials. So it probably won't be a perfect fit and if you hit it on something, it'll crack.

Considering that the MS-R lip doesn't exist, Individual vanished off the face of the earth, the dynamic trim lip costs a bundle and is hard to find now, and the Heico lip will cost more than both your arms and legs are worth, there's not too many options... Sorry!

after searching for about a year for the best and possible the cheapest lip (and quality), i endded up getting one from the Dealer. (Or Tasca while they last).
expensive, yes paid around 700$ installed and painted, but what the heck. US folks are lucy than canadian becasue of the shipping cost and Ontario 13% tax + 13% Duty. If i would get it from tasca, i would end up close to 550% unpainted and uninstalled.

Heico is about 500$, shipped to Canada and Taxes would end up 1200 Canadian, unpainted and uninstalled.

I got my Heico lip from EST which is in Oakville, just outside Toronto, having it shipped in to the States I didn't have to worry about taxes, came it at 500 even, then another 160 to get the lip painted. I have a stock lip sitting in my garage if anyone is interested, not only that but 320mm brake kit all set sitting around. It's pricey but not having a lip at all looks like the car isn't complete. There was a fellow making a CF lip for a while, think he was a Uni student that was doing it on his spare time..

As well, it's an expensive venture to try.

I've been searching for this myself for my V50. Unfortunately no cheap way to get this (the one from eBay is not a correct fit). Quoted from a dealer in Europe 1,700 USD for the entire bodykit including rear spoiler. Consists out of: frontlip, backlip, sideskirts, sidebars on the doors and a spoiler for the trunk, unpainted. Add another 500 USD for painting and I'll have lost five arms and three legs. I passed on the offer.

If you have an 05-07, then you can't even get the dynamic kit anymore! I HATE Volvo for discontinuing this...

Have you guys thought about or tried getting it from the junkyard ?
They don't exist and if they did they are retardedly expensive. Just throwing out a number but I am guessing 10% of S40's 05-07 came with a dynamic kit, .5% are junked, .025% don't have front end damage. Your better off if you don't want a replica ordering from the collision catalog from tascaparts.com but it won't be under 200$

I've looked at the junkyards. Typically the cars that go to the junkyard are in an accident though. Found some with the kit but had been in front end accidents so nothing left. Positive part though is you can find the side skirts and sometimes the rear bumper parts intact. I checked out this place in CA http://www.vandsautodismantlers.com/volvo_archive.htm and inquired about getting just the rear spoiler for a V50 and they said shipping would be too expensive... sorta wtf cause at that point I had a front lip shipped to me in 2 days for $20 and it was a GINORMOUS box. Worth a shot if you're in the area or if they've figured out their shipping costs finally

Just to throw my 2cents in I've bought two of those lips from eBay. The first for the pre face-lift : found that initially the fitment wasn't perfect but with a small bit of sanding it fitted perfectly. Attached it using the clips on the lip and silicone for piece of mind. Had it on the car for over a year with no issues but I presume yes if you hit something with it it would break but I can't imagine plastic being a lot stronger than it in a situation like that. The second lip I bought was for the face-lift model. I found the build quality to be a lot better on this one. It required no sanding at all and the fitment was very good. Again installed it using the clips and silicone. Has been on for a couple of months now with no issues. Best of all they are cheap and shipment to Ireland wasn't expensive. Not a fantastic picture of the new lip but both of them are based on the dynamic trim and then the r design.

Well i finally got the front lip from ebay in the mail.
It arrived at 6:30 and by 9:30 it was cut up.

First impressions: light fiberglass structure, looks decent. Better than most i've seen but still seems fragile.

Concerns: i looked at the mounting tabs and immediately knew that i was going to have to do some surgery to make them fit. As you can see the tabs were different from a OEM lip.

First fitting:
Concerns arised as to if it was curved enough. It would not stay on its own. I had to hold it. So the lip is going to have to be locked in solid.
Pics-

My solution: cut tabs off my other lips i have and use those.

Paired with 10 second bonding krazy glue, metal mesh bondo reinforcement, and fiberglass reinforced bondo.

So with a little "fabrication" it's easier a great front lip.
I'm hacking it up and then getting it painted later this week after i get done with the bondo work.

Hope this helps :)

I have a Heico front lip. Made of fibreglass and with our winters it's too easy to push into a snow bank and crack it. No more Heico distributor in Canada so I need to order from Europe to get a replacement. This with shipping and installation costs a fortune. Looking into getting my Heico lip rebuilt with a body shop that does fibreglass. Repaired and painted for about $600. Not cheap and it will probably crack again but I love the look of the Heico front lip.

2006 V50T5 AWD Heico kit.
