Hi All,

I'm trying to get hold of wiring schematics for the S40 audio system. I'm getting ready to install a JL Audio Cleansweep and speakers and would really like to see that before I tear into it.

I searched and only found one reference to schematics but it was for an XC90 and only one other person has put in a cleansweep that has posted about it.

Anyway, like my sig says I have an '05 S40; stock audio head unit that is basic, not premium. I'm guessing it doesn't have any external amps but I'm not sure. Certainly doesn't sound like it does.
Any help is appreciated,

Tom

Hey warmonger any chance you can send me the pdf's? I've been planning on making the exact same upgrade you are.

Sure, as long as Marmoset doesn't mind, I'll forward the email to you.
Send me an email requesting them and I'll forward them to that email.

Or just email him if it is easier. My email is listed on my profile or my website but I don't want it listed in the text body.

Re: (Oldman)

Depending on the surround setup you have for tuner and cd the center, more than likely is ment for vocals and mids. Aleast that it what pro logic for home use is. 3ch stereo might work as the headunit will sum the left and right together to emmulate sound for the center. Also, since the music source is recorded and mastered in plain stereo, the mixer may have delibratly placed instruments on the left or right of the sound stage. So summing the sub signal from the L+R might be the best to get an average fow frequency signal.

The amp in my S40 is also behind the LH side trunk panel. I came across it by accident when I was drilling holes for a storage box.

Re: Need Audio wiring diagram help (Marmoset)

I'm also in desperate need for an audio upgrade.
I previously owned a 2004 S40 with High Performance audio and a subwoofer. That sounded great. Now I own a quite large type of dog (Labrador) and had to switch to a V50. Only this one has basic audio.... and it sounds ... we'll actually it doesn't. It makes noise.

So if you could send me the diagrams, I'd be very happy !

Thanks in advance.

Rick
