Rock got one of my front headlights (05 V70R) and needs replacing. Anyone have a source cheaper than the $900 that the dealer wants for the part?
Also, the car's got under 30k miles and just needed new rear wheel bearings on both sides...they were really howling. Anyone else had this experience of needing bearings this quickly?? Seems odd to me.
Thanks

Re: Need a headlight and Rear wheel bearing question (Ah_inBoston)

Can't help with the headlight, but the bearing is a known issue. If you do a search in the forum you will find other discussions about it. Make sure to check the forum archive as well.
And I agree, I've never heard of wheel bearings failing on a modern car with the frequency that is reported here. It's like something I'd have laughed about happening on a Yugo twenty years ago.

I know my comment is not a big help now, but I would reccomend install headlight protectors, like EXPEL or stoneguard.. about $100 and 5 years warranty.
Cheers

Give John Sharisky a call.
Is your headlight covered by your insurance? Is there a deductable for that item? If not, you might consider replacing both lights with Euro lights, and having the warranty pay for one, you for the other.

I have a slightly used driver's side headlight off my '04 S60R for sale. I hope that's the one you need.

Erie Volvo also has used parts and new parts...I would also check with Brentwood Volvo for great deals on new parts.
I would love to have rock damage to both my headlights so I can get the euro lights. My address is 257...
