does anyone know if and when hawaii will be added to the maps on the dvd.

As for Hawaii, you will have to check with the map maker. Most all of the NAV systems use the same maps. If they dont bother with Hawaii then it will never be included. I have been to Hawaii several times and there are so few roads I would guess it isnt worth the bother.
Are the NAV systems up-to-date with teh technology? Seems the ones out now are surpassing what the XC had when we passed the NAV up and got the DVD. I can get a portable to move between the cars for 1/5 the price the built-in costs. Just not quite as "cool" as a built-in

Just called Navteq - This year's update is not available yet. They said it will be out sometime before mid-September.
