Custom "Belgian" axle-back (aka, muffler delete) has been installed.

Working in TheBelgian's carport:

His 142 project car:

CollegeKid and Macthias showed up too :D

The cutout (which was in place of the factory resonator) has been removed and will be going in the black C30 this week. I replaced it with a small Magnaflow resonator "muffler," the only interference in this straight pipe setup.

Sound clips to come. A lot of bassy drone around 2400 RPM, but a very raw and pure sound from that 5 pot now!

Anyone want to buy my car? http://forums.swedespeed.com/showthread.php?218364

I might take it back to stock and part it out. My best friend might buy it stock.

This isn't final yet... But feel free to start shooting offers for parts, some things will have to go with the car, some things I might keep for the new car.

sad to see her go / been parted out. I've always been a fan. But on the other hand, looking forward to that C30 and your modding ideas! :)

The End

Well SwedeSpeeders, the S40 is officially sold. :( Just shy of 4 years of ownership, we had a great run! I consider myself very blessed for getting to own that car; it introduced me to many great communities and people, while also providing a lot of fun at events and during my commute to school and work. Huge thanks to all of you for teaching me how to do proper maintenance and inspiring me to modify my car.

I sold it just two days after listing it. Though it was sad to leave behind, I trust the new owner will be taking good care of him.

But don't worry, I'll still be around! In 4 more days and I will be picking up my dream C30. :D Stay tuned for the next progression thread!

Still new here, so didn't get to track your vehicle like some of the others here. but, always sad to see a good vehicle and good owner separate.

I'm sure your new vehicle will treat you well as you treat it well.

Hopefully you stick around on this forum, as you seem to have a lot of good knowledge on the S40. (And have provided some good information for me, personally)

Still sad to see him (not a girl?!?!) go but I can't wait to see what you're going to do with the c30! :)
Bailey and I had just gotten together when I got this car, she said I couldn't have another woman in my life and that the car had to be a boy.

Now that we're almost married, I can have a female car. ;)

Most of the parts are off, I still have a few to take off (the buyer and I have worked out a deal where I still have access to the car for the time being).
I'm not going anywhere :) This section of SwedeSpeed is my home, and we're all still P1s.

Did anyone on SS buy it? Will we see it around?
I told the new owner to join SwedeSpeed, but we'll see if he does.

what's next?
M66 C30 with a few goodies already installed:

H&R Coilovers
Elevate Rear Sway Bar
Ultra Strut Bar
Elevate Torque Mount
Massive Adjustable Rear Camber Arms
Massive Adjustable Front End Links
Forge Recirculation Valve
Elevate Turbo Control valve
IPD HD Coilpacks
Injen Intake System
Elevate Intake Plenum
Elevate Intercooler
Elevate Intercooler Hardpipe Kit
Elevate CatBack Exhaust
EBay Catless 3in Downpipe
Newman Camshafts
Elevate/AutoTech Tune
Slotted and Drilled Brake Rotors
Stainless Steel Brake lines

Aside from the cams and the intake manifold, it's almost a clone of what my S40 was. It's nice to pick back up where I left off :)

Now that SwedeSpeed is back up, there is also an SS build thread for everyone to follow: http://forums.swedespeed.com/showthread.php?218691

Thanks for the kind words! I'm very excited about this new car and hope that it can inspire others like my S40 did.

Get out of here. It's too late to have remorse . . . :D

Congrats on the C30 though. It would have been available at the time (in 05) I would have bought a C30 over the S40. I probably wouldn't now but it has some character that makes it stand out for sure so I understand your move.

Personally if so much of the work is already done on that car I would spend my time doing a rear lower facelift on that car. I really like most of the C30 except the rear bumper need some work to be more attractive (and I mean the entire bumper) so perhaps it's a huge opportunity here.

And man, you have to give us a little more info here...
How much did you sold your S40 for, and what was the stats?

Anyway, have fun with it. I'm sure it will help fit better with the Dragon crew...

Me, I'm sticking with my affection for the S40 for some time still :D,
Greg

I still love the S40, it will be my phone wallpaper for a long time to come. But we realized now is the best time to sell that car. It was always the car I settled for, when really wanting a C30 (heck, I've been looking at C30s for two years). As much as we wanted to keep it and sell the 850, it made more sense to sell the S40 while it's still worth a bit. Not sure if I mentioned it in this thread... But once most of the parts sell, it will only be ~$1500 out of pocket for my car upgrade and that was a deal I could not pass up. Especially since the C30 just had the timing belt service completed, and the S40 would have needed that by next spring at the rate I drive.

I prefer the classic C30 front and rear, but the butt does need a little help. This car will be getting a lot of cosmetic attention and weight reduction. :D
