Ask the seller I didnt see anything on the auction about part number. Some sellers will ask for vin to verify
I messaged them this morning, so we shall see. *fingers crossed* If the $50 doesn't fit, then I'll dish out for the $80 that has an identical part number as mine.

MNIWT - Did you ever wrap your center waterfall in DiNOC carbon fiber? I seem to remember something about it, or maybe it was someone else - but I have the same interior and I'm trying to decide if it would be worth it to cover my scratched waterfall and dog-chew-toy driver's door handle or if I'd just hate it after a while and take it off.

You've got decent taste, what do you think?

What did the seller say?
# on the $50 screen was 3XXXXXX so it won't work for me. Looks like I'll be dishing out for the $80 one. I think I'll hold off until Christmas to get a new screen, maybe a cheaper one will pop up somewhere.

You have a good memory :) Personally, I did not like the look. For one, Di-noc needs to be clear coated to look like real carbon fiber (like I did for my engine bay accents). Also, while contrast can look good, the carbon fiber clashed with black in the interior (shifter, steering wheel, gauge surround, etc.). I fell in love with these cars for their brushed aluminium interiors, so that's why I'm bringing that look back. I've seen decent sets of aluminum interiors on e-bay for $60-$90, so that may be your best bet if you wish to keep that look.

------
Just to keep my thread updated, this weekend I cleaned out the throttle body, cleaned out the intake, and discovered that my Elevate Torque mount was starting to fail as well.

However, my mount was no where near as bad as others I have seen. I cut a bit of 3/4" rubber vacuum hose and put that around the bolt tube. I then put that inside of wear-widened hold in the mount and it's just as tight as ever! If this fails me again, then I'll send my pics to Don about getting a discount on the race mount; I'm just too curious to see how firm that really is.

@TurbineWagon- I did mine as well, and it didn't stay in the car for long. I initially liked it, but then it just started to feel a bit "cheap" for the Volvo brand. If it was real CF, that might have been a different story, as MNIWT said.

Anyway, here's a shot of mine when it was done just to help you decide

Hmmm. Thanks guys. It might could be a temporary solution anyway. I like the aluminum (and the way it glows at night with the overhead accent lighting) but the dents / scratches are just an eyesore right now.

EDIT: Also - as for the carbon clearcoat, I agree... BMW did a dry-carbon interior when my dad bought his M Coupe, it was interesting. Never was sure if I liked it.

Hmm... I don't think I like the BMW interior, I prefer glossy carbon fiber. But still, carbon fiber is a fad. It started when super cars started doing it main stream. Now super cars are starting to lean away from it and soon the world will follow.

You can sand the scratches out of the aluminum, I did.
If your interior trim is as bad as you say it is, you have nothing to lose. I figured I'd at least try to restore my trim before paying for a new set, and I've been happy enough with the restoration that I think I'll leave it that way. I wasn't able to get all the dents out, but if I accidentally dent it again, at least I won't feel bad for having destroyed perfection.

All those little dings will be hard to get out. Vinyl would probably be the best way to cover that up, it just doesn't look that great in the long run.

Hey MyNameIdeasWereTaken,

I had the exact same issue with the dead pixels on the screen. Mine was actually quite a lot bigger. If your replacement doesn't work out, my issue actually fixed itself over the course of a couple months... Not sure if you are willing to wait, but there is hope of it going away by itself!

Thanks for the tip! However, my dead spot continues to grow every day. I recreated the issue in another part of the screen by pushing on it with my finger. So I'm beginning to believe something must have hit the screen at some point without me knowing it.

If it goes away, that will be great! But otherwise I'll be ordering a new screen next month.

Yeah mine started small and grew larger like yours and like you said, if I pushed on it with my finger I could recreate the issue. Hopefully it will go away soon, if not maybe a carPC / headunit relocation could be in the works??? haha

I strongly considered moving the screen to the ceiling console and fitting a 7" GPS into the waterfall. However, getting the necessary cable extensions, the GPS itself, the time to fit and modify everything, it just wasn't worth it. I'd still want a clear screen up top anyway.

If yours reacted the same way, maybe I will hold off and see if it fixes itself.

By the way, did you notice if the screen getting worse/better was at all associated to temperature?

I believe it started during the winter and ended up getting better as the weather got warmer, but this was 2 years ago so I may be mistaken. Maybe the cold weather is causing it to shrink slightly and therefore causing something to be applying pressure to the screen?

Last week we hit temps in the low 20°s. I came out to the car and discovered this:

In the last few days, it has doubled in size. The lower right spot is a result of me pushing the screen as hard as I could, in an attempt to duplicate the problem, which I successfully did.

It beats me how the other two spots appeared when the screen was fine driving to work, nothing touched it, then messed up when I got in the car that evening.
I'm assuming I need to replace the entire screen. Will any P1 screen work? Or are there specifics with basic/premium sound, model years, etc.?
Wow, I hope this isn't a common issue! Have you solved it already? ...On a positive note, since its in season... it looks like snowflakes! :D

While doing my sound setup, I also considered moving the screen and modifying the waterfall to accommodate a 2din stereo. I already looked into ordering the optic cables and all. But have to agree, it seemed like too much work than it was worth.

After a few weeks of the spot slow expanding to the size of a half dollar, it has now started to recede. One "spot" is almost completely gone, the rest is now the size of a quarter. I'll give it another two weeks and maybe it'll be gone :D Thanks for the tip on waiting.

Elevate Badges

Finally got my Elevate badges installed, I wanted to make the grille badge sit flush with the grille.

Not everyone will like the badges, but I do.
