Well... No indie shops, dealerships, or certified Volvo techs are willing to take on the project of doing an M66 conversion. :( I'm not experienced enough to do the job on my own, nor do I have the tools or time. I guess the conversion is a no go...

So I shall sit back, enjoy the Volvo I have, and in a few years I'll buy the C30 of my dreams :)

Nothing that wouldn't, again, require a shop willing to tackle the job...

However! Once it gets cheaper, I may look into paddle shifters. A few guys have done this to GT Rs, pricey, but it could be fun :D Makes me miss our 9-5...

@daim, if you had a T5 we'd have a deal :D

I go to school in Marietta. Thanks for the lead! I just e-mailed them. Unfortunately, they're a notorious shop in the area for being WAY over priced, but we'll see.

What about KW in Marietta? He does a lot of Volvo work but I'm not positive if he's go there!

No, the LEDs aren't quite cutting it. But I have another plan for the bulbs... :D

I think I may swap the stock bulbs back in for now, I need to do a little more research on HID reverse lights first, and if it's even work in our cars.
Why not leave the LEDs and just sneakily mount a fog lamp under the rear bumper? I did it on my van (stupid cargo van, no windows) and it did wonders for backing in to spots at night.

I looked into this for my V50, but I couldn't find a good spot where the thing wouldn't be visible. There's not much space under there what with my hitch....

Because the stock bulbs were good enough. The idea was to have something whiter and brighter that looked factory (like the new cars have). I've thought about doing a fog light on the 854 since it has terrible reverse lights, but I don't want to be backing into a parking lot at night with a mega light off the back that gets me funny looks.

Buy the dynamic trim and put the lights in the opening :D

MNIWT - I'm now on a mission to find HID fogs and install for pictures. They don't HAVE to be pointing out at people, on my van I have it set as more of a creepy glow from under the bumper that happens to illuminate about 30 feet behind me, but the bumper acts as a cutoff. Almost like how your headlights have a sharp line across the top.

No, I understand exactly what you're saying. I just don't want light emitting from anything other than the two main reverse bulb slots. I'll just keep the stock bulbs and save my money :)

Custom Autotech "Stage 1" Tune Review

I've had the Autotech custom tune for a week now and I'm loving it!

Top speed limiter has been removed.
The tune was ordered with the Elevate TCV and Injen intake.

The "dead" space in the gas pedal is completely gone. Stock, our cars require you to depress the pedal half way if you want the car to really launch forward, now it'll do it with the slightest ease.

1st is still limited to only boosting at 5psi.
2nd is limited to 8psi, before I could peak at 10psi. But it still pulls harder than it used to.
3rd - 5th are entirely new beasts! Peaking at 18psi, the car just takes off!

After doing a few sprinted pulls in 3rd, I started to find myself disappointed with the torque limiter in 1st and 2nd (I later learned that parts can be replaced to remove this limiter, but I am not interested in investing too much more for power in an automatic).
I have reasoned that each gear is now providing maximum responsible performance with the modifications that I have. 1st and 2nd have improved a LOT, but 3rd - 5th have improved so much that they dwarf how 1st and 2nd now perform.

Only once have I attempted to accelerate as fast as I could, traction control off, the tires actually chirped between 1st-2nd and 2nd-3rd. That's impressive for a GT ;)

The turbo noise at 18psi with the Injen intake is intense, occasionally you can even hear the turbo spooling down.

Even with all the spirit driving, I managed to get better mpg average on the last tank. I was told I could expect 2-3mpg better, we'll see once I start accelerating at a responsible rate again. ;)

Elevate claims "+39hp, +53ftlb (74Nm) of torque," Don said I would see slightly better gains with the intake. One day I will dyno to verify, but right now I believe it.

In conclusion, I am very satisfied with the performance gains that Autotech was able to provide for my geartronic car. Don at Elevate provided great customer service and responded to all of my e-mails almost immediately. It took 8 business days for my tune to be developed and uploaded to the servers, which is faster than what others have reported. All in all, I'm very happy. :D

Question for you, kind sir:

Part number for the knobs?
And where did you buy your back bumper spoiler?
The radio control knobs? Those are the stock black ones, I just painted them.

Are you referring to the spoiler on the trunk or the lower rear diffuser?
The trunk spoiler/wing is an OEM replica I bought on e-bay. It came painted, perfect color match, for ~$250 IIRC.
The rear diffuser I built myself, you can see more info on that here: Customer rear diffuser thread
