I just cut the wires and soldered in longer wiring.
I just cut the wires and soldered in longer wiring.Great idea! How did you extend the wiring?
Found out my problem - the lines I have don't use Orings - they have this plastic housings & companion grommet that seals the fitting. I was trying to use either the oring or the shock limiter buffer.Ok - thanks again - I'll revisit this.
I replaced the rubber hose running to the turbo with a larger hose that has a gentler bend. Actually, it was a cut up stock intercooler to throttle body hose. This is sweet, Michael. Do you have more details of the parts/build on the intake? Not like I can justify burning my money just spent for my Elevate intake but as I'm literally on the eve of a Hilton 2.5 tune and KT4 exhaust, I'm always looking for the next solid tweak.
Hope you and Gerrit are well!
Matt
Sorry for the delay! Just now seeing your post.Question. Did your IPD skid plate bolt up pretty flush under the carriage? Did it take away from ground clearance by sagging down or anything like that? I had a skid plate for my old Speed3 and I was on coils and the plate was designed in a way where to maintain a little bit of distance between the motor and plate it sat down a little lower than I woud like and took away from my ground clearance. It was irritating.
As for your CV axle, did it pop out because of you being dropped and it being at an aggressive angle?
I noticed distorto mentioning this being an issue with his car when driving at lower ride heights. This is something that concerns me a smidge since I?m getting ready to bag mine soon and of course I wanna drive low
Thanks! Hasn't been washed in over two months, so it's a little dirty.Just saw you in Dahlonega and the car is looking great
Visiting with a friendSorry for the delay! Just now seeing your post.
I have the Miller Motoring concept plate on this car, but the iPd plate on the V50. The iPd plate does not take away from ground clearance at all. It bolts flush with the frame in the rear and then sits about 1" lower than the oil pan (crumple room). So while it does take away from your under-motor ground clearance, it's not any lower than the rest of the car.
My CV axle did not pop out. The joint completely shattered and the pictured remnants are what I removed. Anything other than stock ride height will cause additional stress to the CV. So between being lowered and the amount of torque this car is putting to the wheels, I consider CV axles to be ticking time bombs; only a matter of time before they break.

Are you local to Dahlonega or just visiting?
Thanks for the kind words!Just a GREAT thread MNIWT.
I think I can speak for a lot of C30 enthusiasts when I say, "Your passion for C30s is not only helpful to other C30 owners, but also enjoyable to watch and read."
Thank you.
