Yeah every damn s40/v50/c30 suffers from this. The only thing to do is to buy brand new pieces (expensive as a mf) and be careful.

Speaking of C30 fronts on other cars, just found this. Not much to talk about really but I want to believe that other than myself like to peek at things like this:

Some exterior "specs":
30mm sheet metal widened fenders.
C30 front bumper built together with the original S80 front and custom side/corners. There's also been 2x XC70II bumpers used to build the front spoiler.
C30 R-design grille.
Sideskirts from BMW E60 M5 welded together with the OEM sides.
Rear bumper from XC70II.
BMW E46 lip cut and glued on the trunk.
Realcar S60 roof spoiler modified to fit the S80.
