NoCan you please take a closer picture of the coolant reservoir?
That's funny, I did the same just recently. Did you also take advantage of IPDs June sale? I went ahead and did ALL of the coolant lines, tank, and Tstat. Altogether it was only like $75 after their sale. I bought the turbo supply hose but did not replace it due to location. What a PITA to try and get to.Finally got around to installing the new coolant tank and flushing the system.
No, shipping wasn't worth it for just the tank. I bought a new tank on ebay for $20 shipped. That's funny, I did the same just recently. Did you also take advantage of IPDs June sale? Nothing other than maintenance as of recently... I still have a pillar pod and boost gauge to install when I get the free time.Long time no post... any progress on the project?
I bought a silver caliper spray paint from the autopart store. Cleaned the calipers really well, then painted it on as a base coat. I used a regular Rustoeum purple spray paint for the top coat. Then a high temp clear. It has held up great so far! No chips, bubbles, or flaking, and the smooth surface cleans very easily. I still need to apply the Volvo decals, so thanks for the reminder!Going to be doing brakes soon. May as well paint the calipers while I'm in there. What paint did you use? link?
Surprising regular rustoleum held up. Being the midcoat doesn't really matter, it still feels the heat. I was going to get some VHT spray from amazon. What high temp clear was it? Where are you getting your Volvo vinyl decals from?Nothing other than maintenance as of recently... I still have a pillar pod and boost gauge to install when I get the free time.
I took the S40 to Stage 3 and have been focusing a lot on that recently.

I used the same silver paint on the S40, with no top color. It has held up for 3 years now.
I noticed you painted the back of the brake pads as well. I plan to do the same. Hope it doesn't look bad after the next pad change. The Rustoleum can said paint could withstand up to 300°F, so I figured it'd be safe enough on calipers. Turns out it works!
The clear was a high gloss engine bay paint, also from the autopart store.
Here's the caliper decals, I've had them on the S40 for 3 years with no issues at all. I got metallic silver for the purple calipers.

Yeah, I figured I'd paint it all for now. I've since changed out the pads on the S40 and it actually looks a little cleaner (they're black backed pads).I noticed you painted the back of the brake pads as well. I plan to do the same. Hope it doesn't look bad after the next pad change.
I'm excite to see what you did. The previous owner also somehow cracked the horns on mine so they look pretty awful.Walked Bailey through a horn relocation project tonight. Really cleans up the grille area, I'll post pictures once Google decides to come back up...
I might be getting an iPd mesh grille from a friend, so I'll share a picture then.Very nice, I plan on doing this also. But you forgot the most important pic, how clean does it look with the hood closed?
