For the second time now my dash lit up with the error code:

"12V Battery Charging Fault - Stop Safely"

Volvo Oncall insists on a tow-in when this message appears!

The first instance required a new water pump, not sure what this time will entail...

Anyone else seeing such issues; a bit concerning on a new car since it is a shared platform (not really new).
Never had any such issues on any of my former Volvos; hope it is not a made in USA problem?

Probably not too common, the general charging system and engine are shared since 2016, pretty well established systems at this point.

That said I did make sure to buy the 10 year warranty on mine....

Turns out to be a prematurely failing serpentine belt...

They are replacing both the belt and tensioner; didn't have either in stock so taking them a few days.
And the camshaft belt now as well...
Volvo now wants to do more testing car; they've had it for a week now...

Gonna be another week; turns out the A/C compressor failed as well (probably the root cause of the issue).
I had the water pump go out after just one month.
Hopefully my car is the anomaly and not a sign of poor made in the USA quality.
