Community -- MY16 XC90 T8 has had issues in the past with the ERAD clutch needing replacement. However, my current issue is that, when selecting PURE mode (despite having a sufficient battery level and the engine being warmed up) it will not engage/turn on/the dials do not change to reflect the selection of PURE mode. Any suggestions/guidance will be appreciated.

I only got this when the gasoline was aged and force to burn the gasoline.

Thank you for the response; I do not understand though....gasoline was aged? ...as in, it's been sitting in the tank for a long time, unused? If so, that is not the case for this daily driver vehicle. Can you please clarify what you mean, if needed?

The engine forcibly runs when it hasn't for a while (gasoline been sitting in the tank too long + keeps everything healthy) OR when the exterior temperature is too cold for effective EV use / effective electric heat. If the issue persists on a warm day you should definitely get the car looked at.

Regrettably, those are not my issues; it is my daily driver in Southern California. Is there not a software update or a reset that I can perform on my own?

Just to be clear, as your daily driver, does the gas engine turn on every day? If not, when was the last time the gas engine turned on?

Yes, it does, with few exceptions.

When parked, can you go into your car settings and configure Individual Mode to Pure? Then when driving, choose Individual using the dial?
