To the OP. Great looking VR & Welcome! Where'd ya find it? What transmission? Are the roof rails brushed aluminum too?

Thanks for the welcome. I've had my VR for just about a year. I had a '97 T5 that gave up the ghost after many good years. On the day of said T5 roasting, I limped it into my mechanic and after learning it was going to be a substantial bill to get it running, he said to me "have you seen whats on my lot?" I took possession of the keys the next day. I had been in search for a year or so, and this just landed in my lap, so to say. Lots of plans for upgrades, and I am finding this forum a wealth of info and ideas. The roof rails are just the standard issue. I'm thinking about powder coating or painting them to match the caR.

if the VR's are the same as the SR's the car have built in points for the racks, the racks are thule i believe. I'm to lazy to run to the garage to check mine.

I have an old set of complete Yakima racks I'm going to trade for bike fittings on the new existing racks. Saves $$$ that I can put into a new DP, exhaust, intercooler, ECU upgrades... Will a rackless VR look better? Of course. Fitting my needs.? Not so. Maybe add a turbo brick to cart my cycles around would be a better option. Maybe I'll find something soon!

I am sure you can find racks that are a little sexier then stock. There's a rack place across from Jeld-Wen Field, I am sure they can help.
