I just got my new engine and tranny chip from GIAC for my Volvo V70R today. I installed it, here's what happened.

Firstly, the car was amazingly faster than before. Instant turbo spooling and AWD wheel spinning torque, with an automatic.

So I challanged one of my mechanics to a race, him driving the Volvo, me the S4 (nobody drives my car but me).

Off the line(light power braking), on the hiway, up a hill, the Volvo SMOKED me every time. I just couldn't pull on it anywhere, not even at speeds over 100 MPH.

Had my S4 been chipped it might have been a different story, but I'm not totally sure about that. It more likely would have been a more even match.

I realize this may sound like bull****, but my 3800 pound Volvo V70R AWD has officially spanked my S4. Now, if only the Volvo had bigger brakes and the IPD dual exhaust. It needs them now.

I believe you. I have a stock 2000 V70R which I'm planning on chipping (see the Chip post in the other thread). I'm hoping that GIAC has an program for my ECU! Also, I'm looking into SCT. Any word on the differences?

I've played with different cars with my stock V70R. So far, I've shocked an Acura CL Type S the most. That was a fun one. Also, the 3-series BMWs are fun to tease.

Any idea what your hp is now?

300 HP at 1.2 bar 300 ft/lbs acorrding to G-tech pro.

GIAC www.giacusa.com is pretty much the high performance ECU chip of choice for turbo Audis & VWs. They have about the highest HP & torque output but another company called APR (Audi/VW only) is also in that league.

I'm a newbie here. Innovator, your car sounds awesome. I have a 98 V70 R as well the GIAC upgrades seems very interesting. What other mods do you have on your car to deal with all that extra power???
