My Quick XC60 Review

Well, the first time I got to "drive" the XC60 was for the dealer group trip in Sweden where we tried out City Safety on an XC60 Diesel (the T6 is not sold in Sweden).
I got an extended drive here in the states the other day...so quick synopsis:
The seats are GREAT,..getting back to where they should be (a nice step up from the current S80/V70/XC70 in terms of comfort and support).
Yeah, fuel economy takes a hit, but the T6 engine in this thing moves with authority! Handles excellent as well. The pod isn't really hateful, reminds me of the set-up in an '03-'06 Saab 9-3.
All in all, GREAT PRODUCT. Its ashame it is being unleashed at this time...they deserve to sell everyone they make. http://********************/smile/emthup.gif

Minor point: The T6 was sold in Sweden, but was pulled from line-up fairly early on. But those who had ordered the T6 prior to the change got their orders fulfilled, as far as I know.

I really didn't rate the seats as good as those in my R, but maybe I am not remembering how bad the seats are in the XC70??

Its not that they are bad, its just not what you come to expect from Volvo...having said that, they are no worse then any other manufacter's seat.
The XC60 is a return to the way Volvo seats have been prior (as far as comfort is concerened http://********************/smile/emthup.gif )

Re: My Quick XC60 Review (VolvoD)

I went for a quick drive last weekend, and the seats really didn't seem that different to me other than the strange bi-color pattern. I thought they were decent. I didn't mind the "pod" either. Some of it seems to remind of Audi interior styling with the way the center goodies are slightly aimed at the driver...which I think is good. http://********************/smile/emthup.gif I'm sure they'll sell every unit they make, just might not be at the priced they'd hoped.

I think it's nice. I like it a lot more now that I've seen it, and taken it for a quick run.

I hadn't realized the current S80/V70 seats were a step back. I hope to drive an XC60 this week, and now know to check out how the seats differ while I'm there.

I have a 2006 Audi A4 S-Line, and nothing is "slightly" aimed at the driver?

'06 no, but look at an '06 A6 or Q7..the nav/MMI screen is tilted just slightly to the left. The '09 A4 is the same way. (I sold Audis in 2007 and that was one aspect of them that a lot of people pointed out that they liked..
