I cracked a rim today hitting a pothole on a backroad. I've just started to look for a replacement, considering a whole set. Anyone know where I can find a Zubra set? I saw a set go for $1300 with tires a little bit ago, I was considering R wheels in silver or is it too ambitious?

What wheels do you have on there right now?

Are you sure this is not a defect in the wheel? The rim still looks round in the photo. Might be worth checking with the dealer.

Sorry about your wheel - I just picked up a 2009 S80 and was offered a 60k mile warranty on wheels and tires for damage (not wear) for $500, which I didn't take. Are these wheels generally considered fragile? thanks

And the lower profile your tires are, the easier it is. $500 is pretty expensive insurance. Put that money in a safe place, and if you have to buy one tire (~$200) and one wheel (~$300) during that time, you'll have the money. And if you don't, go out and treat yourself to something.

If I still had my S80 today, I'd probably be kicking myself in the ass for not getting a tire/wheel protection package.
Still, with the beefy sidewall of the 17" tires, it must have been a big whack and if you drive in that area often, that package would probably have paid for itself in no time. Viv, Jay, and I have/had Zubras so......

And they are a much better tire.

Thanks for the responses. Will pass on the warranty and cross my fingers (esp when my son starts driving next year).
