I did the same thing to my old S40, and I figured I could do the same thing to the R. Basically, I scraped off the orange color off the side indicators in the headlights. They look much cleaner now. Besides, the orange bulbs tend to peel (as you can see in the picture) and all that crap settles at the bottom of the headlight.

BTW, the passenger side bulbs was a b***ch to take out

The peeling sucker

Much better now IMO

Schweet, so you peeled the bulb or the inner housing? Im confused?

I just peeled the bulb. The inner housing is not orange.
I'm also very tempted to paint my bezels...one day

Were those the factory bulbs??? A 'proper' (read: not cheap Chinese crap) would be tinted, not painted

Fail.

I just painted one bezel and did a few things. Mine were like that as well, never replaced. Factory 2004 signal bulbs.

Nice. BTW you are missing a fog grill

I think he just installed the "R KELLY " intake..

My OEMs are all flaky as well
I replaced my corners with the Silverstars (Amber turn on/BlueSilver off)
DOT requires an amber turn I believe...hence why we have amber reflectors here...

It does look better however http://********************/smile/emthup.gif

You are welcome

Thanks!
Although, even though I have fat fingers, I was able to pull it out with just loosening the top of the reservoir.

yes but you can remove the reflectors and make them clear.

But you will still have to have your bulbs flash orange to pass inspection

hey pafox, where on LI do you live, and you say you replaced your corner lamps with Silverstars (Amber turn on/ BlueSilveroff). Can you please tell me where you got them and the part #? I would really appreciate it. I realize this post is a couple years old. hopefully you'll get this. Thanks again.. Tim

For those that don't have flaky bulbs that make it un-peel-able.
Chrome Amber bulbs instead?

These light up like regular ambers, and won't run into inspection troubles.

Be careful with these. I bought some cheap chromed/amber bulbs and their light output was really poor. So bad they didn't seem safe for daytime use. I got some Osram bulbs from a friend though and they are just as bright as stock.
