So I thought it would be interesting to list and discuss everything the member's in here are planning to have done on their cars, whether is be maintenance, mods or repairs. Here's mine:
1. Partially rebuild front suspension
-Put in a pair of gently used struts (thanks Jim)
-New OEM Endlinks
-New Tie Rods (if needed, tech said they weren't not sure if I trust him yet)
-Check control arms, replace if needed

2. Timing belt, and water pump if needed
3. Full tune up (new plugs, filters all around, ect)
4. New climate control knobs, and master window switch due to wear
5. Steering column bushing
6. New headlight wiper motor (Driver's side just burnt out, again)

I'm budgeting around $1500 to have the work done. I'm going to do it in two stages, with suspension and timing belt taking priority.

Well, my signature covers pretty much everything I've done, tomorrow it's going in for a complete paint job. Sticking with black, but with an iridescent cobalt blue undertone. Just added projector lights, and factory fogs.

Re: My List...what's yours? (895meztz94)

I'm not sure how long you have owned yours, but...
My '99 was bought new, and I have a stack of receipts about as thick as one of those large "Yellow Pages" books. I don't even want to think about adding those up. It's an NA, so the only "mods" are a full IPD suspension, 18" wheels, tint & the rest are maintenance & repairs.
In checking receipts recently, for my '98, bought 2 yrs ago, I 'roughly' added them up. I have dropped over 8 grand into that car in 2yrs - Stage 0, followed by some other mt & repair items & the rest in performance mods, up to Stage III!
I was planning on changing my engine 'set up', but I have now changed my mind. I love my Volvos, but with 3 in the stable, none of which were kept stock, I may have gone 'overboard'. My '82 has been in the shop for a few weeks, getting a custom brake set up (in addition to several grand worth of other mods & "things" already done), but now that I have come to my senses, and have had a look at the 'numbers', I think that is it!
Good luck w/ all that you guys are planning for your rides. I have just done about everything I care to do with mine and will just fix whatever breaks from this point on...

Wow, I just roughly added up my bills and just in the last year I dropped more than 5K into the car, that's not even including maintenance!!
My parents are right, I do work to feed my car

Re: My List...what's yours? (glsable)

I too have a yellowpage phone book size pile of receipts from the original purchase in Nov 1998 to now, some 215,000 miles later. Theres no point in listing all of it. I've put in over 8K in mods & labor in the last two years. Currently running IPD Stage III and a few other goodies.
As for a total on repairs and maintenance, I stopped counted after I hit $18K. The first 3 years and 70,000 miles had a considerable amount of warranty work, and the unfortunate side as been that everything after that has been out of my pocket.
Can't say I've ever had anything major break, ie (transmission or engine) but when things wear out, typically they happen in pairs.

I can't wait to see that T5 when you're finished with it Nick!
I'll take those Perfos if you're looking to get rid of them.

I just finished timing belt (70k service) and finally today got the thing registered in my name.
If I ever sell my 2004 V70R, I will, at the very least, put on IPD sways. Until then, I don't really need any more horsepower. I'm very happy with the way this car pulls.

Re: My List...what's yours? (895meztz94)

I'm almost done with mine - this next week I'm putting on a 19T, modified 3" DP run on the right side of the rear driveshaft instead of the stock mess that loops over to the left & under....
I've got an IPD BBK on the way, and that's about it.
Only possible additions will be F&R braces, higher output fuel pump.
Everything on the car works; no flaky switches, burned out dash bulbs, no squeaks/rattles.
When I put the winter 17" pegs on, I'll be cleaning up the curb rashes on my 18"'s.
After this, I'll pretty much just maintaining what's there.
