Since I'm new to the V70R of this generation I'd thought a project thread or something like would be a thing to do. I've only had this car for a week now and I'm in love, a Flash Green MY04 with beige soft leather and a space ball. A high mileage car but well maintained and the previous owner took well care of it and also took it to couple of Volvo meets.

A lot of parts are fairly new or fixed, but theres is also some issues. Since this is the new daily, at least thats the ambition, the fixings will have to be done when possible and so on. The main positives are: it has all four Four C struts swapped out in the last five years, the clutch, the exhaust with cat and the drive shaft are just a couple of years old. The exhaust that were put on is a Simons 3" from the cat, it sounds pretty nice but not too loud. Cambelt and waterpump was done just a month ago. It has Brembo slotted discs all around, Powerflex bushing in the engine mount wand the strut brace has some parts from IPD. Powerflex bushings in the rear control arms aswell.

So, I bought it for a fair price and the things I al ready know needs to be done: both the VVT:s... yay. And the crank case ventilation, no surprise there either. New brake pads in the front. And I've changed the oil and filter already. So, lets se how this trip goes.

Congrats! That’s a gorgeous R - in my dream spec too! Can’t wait to see what you do with it.

Nice color. It’s pity that discontinued after 05

Thanks guys! :) I really love the spec and the color, just as seen on the first press release driving photos and as soon as I test drove it was a done deal pretty much.

Right now the first thing is to fix the winter wheels, 17" Pegasus with Goodyear, having them painted today. Havent decided on the color yet, 936 bright silver or 932 anthracit grey.

So, I went with 714 Osmium Grey, for some reason our Glasurit system couldent find the recipe for 932 so I went for this instead, with a semi gloss clear coat. Still a bit shiny in the picture. It might not be a factory color but I think it's going to be a good look for the winter season.

They should look great! I honestly really like how bright silver looks on Flash, but I’d reserve that for the summer.

A crisp winter day here in Stockholm today and it seemed fit for some pictures. And I now know that the 4wd is all working as it should...

Haven't really had the possibility to do any of the things I've planned with car due to covid and Christmas but hopefully it will start to progress soon. I've also decided to get a hold of some stock 2004 rear lights instead of the face lift ones.

Pics look great, and the car looks great. You’ve really got a stunner there, in my favorite color combo. Wish I could find a decent one for around $10-11k. Seriously missed out on the one sold on here early-mid last year. Holding out until that (or something close to that) happens again lol.

Thanks! I'll save them even if I swap them, never know what the eyes like in the future. More pics are coming!

Thank you! I'm over the top happy that I found this one, even though it's high milage it looks and feels great to drive. Most for sale are in other colours as well and I really wanted this.
I hope you get lucky and get to buy that one or another in the same combo. I don't know how often they go on the market?

The R details on these cars really bring that extra little feeling.

Not quite sure about Flash/Gobi, as I’ve only seen two over here - but there’s an ‘05 Flash/Atacama I’m talking to a guy I know about, but asking is too much at the moment (and it’s very far away from me), and I want to wait for a hidden gem like this one.
Hopefully the gems’ll wtay hidden until it becomes safe to travel again, because I’d be extremely willing to travel for it.
How’s the car been so far? Do the neighbors like it? lol
