hello all,
Last friday I picked up my "new" volvo. I bought a 1991 240, 121K, Auto. Car has new Pirelli's, a set of snows, and lotsa little things done to it. Guy I bought it from had bought it for his Daughter, and had the work done so she would be safe...she didn't like to be driving an old volvo.

I couldn't be happier!..car runs wonderful, and is nice and clean...

all this for a small token of $900

Re: my first volvo (vaipunk)

$900??? For a 91 240 with only 121K? You lucky SOB. I paid $1900 for a 92 with 196K and lots of mechanical problems that came about. There has to be some catch. Also, what is wrong with his daughter. Not only was the dad giving her a safe reliable ride, he was giving her a car in general. I was thankful my parents let me have anything. (though that anything was a 1980 diesel

Re: my first volvo (gdill2)

one question.... WHY?!?! im failing to catch how this helps unless he lives near a swamp or even in a swamp.... is the interior of the car really wet? ive never really had this problem before, and the heater on full blast?! good lord are you trying to cook him?! i challenge anyone to sit through that for more then five minutes.... i wonder if volvo was trying to make this car multi-functional, like it could be a car and an oven at the same time! just kidding but seriously.... why run the a/c when its cold?

bah the subaru will not even be 10% as much fun as the volvo. remember these things were built for swedish winters. subarus are built for japanese winters. big difference. and ive heard someone say ( i think it was RearWheelPaul) say that with his snow tires he can move when snow is halfway up the doors. try THAT in your subaru.
