It is so sad! My dad's 98 Honda accord that has 170,000 miles on it, rides softer than my S60..... what is wrong!

What's wrong with what? Explain further and be more direct with your question.

Perhaps when they designed the S60, they kept in mind that some drivers might someday like to take a left at a speed equal to or greater than 4 and a half miles an hour and not end up upside down. Then again, some folks would rather have the "soft" ride.

Bad struts on the Honda? Seriously, if your dad's S60 is the T5 mentioned in your screen name, what's the issue? The T5 is the sport model so the suspension should be geared a bit more towards handling versus an Accord which is an appliance.

And why is this in the R forum?

What does "soft" mean?

I know one thing, most cars I ride in feel much more solid and better put together than my R. The suspension makes all kinds of noises.

More solid than a P2? My 2002 T5, 2005 XC90 and 2006 R provide a more solid ride than any Honda or Toyota I've driven and are probably as good and in same cases better than most Benz's and Beemer's. Remember, were using the word 'solid' here.

170K is going to give a nice floaty feel to any suspension. I know what you mean about the firmness of the P2. Volvo has a problem with clunks and rattles, that's for sure. I have been in 6th Gen Accords and they aren't that bad. Too bad the seats are a joke... But there's no way an Accord is going to be out-handling a P2. Accords nose-dive big time.

I agree. The T5 is supposed to be taught and responsive, at least more so than the Accord. By the by, this is just the regular S60 forum. No R threads allowed in here! Just kidding...
