So, 11 and a half hours of labor and work later, my 04 SR has two subwoofers installed in the trunk, EXTREMELY clean install in my opinion. The shop that did it really put a lot of effort into this and I was there half the day hanging out and watching them. I have two 10 inch JL Audio W3V3 subs powered by a JL audio 500 watt mono block amp 500/1V2. This system f-ing pounds! Really does sound fantastic, everyone seems to agree too. Here are some pics, enjoy!

I saw the JL's and couldn't resist posting. I love JL's. I've had the JL w7 12", and am currently using a JLw6v2 12" powered by a PPI A600.2. Fantastic sound. Looks superb.
Totally clean install man, nice! It's definitely nice to see this in a S60...classy install job for a classy car.
Not to hate on anyone, but giant sub boxes make this car look totally ghetto and add too much unneeded weight to the car.

Fantastic install! I absolutely love the matching carpet as well as near flush mounting. Can you still easily access the fuse panel/tail lamps?

Quote, originally posted by Jexx »

I saw the JL's and couldn't resist posting. That looks great! Congrats on the upgrade. Have you run into any problems with the trunk lid buzzing when the bass kicks in? When I installed a 12" sub in the trunk, I would hear an annoying buzz from the trunk (maybe the license plate?) when outside the car. System sounded great when inside the car, but was a little annoying to hear it when I had popped out to grab the mail.

At this point in time there is buzzing from the trunk, quite noticable actually, but I am taking it back for more dynomatting. The entire Sidewell is the custom made box and surprisingly doesnt need more. I would have had it done yesterday but as I said they were working from 9 - 845 as it was, and they usually close at 8. The owner was doing me a favor, so Ill go back and have it done.
The install is completely flush with the side of the trunk, there is a 1/4 inch tear drop shaped raised design element which is the shops trademark that they asked to do and I said yes, which breaks up the flatness and can be seen in the third pic the best.
Best thing about this install, I lost 0 trunk space.

Re: (JRL)

Can you fold down the walls and post a pic of the backside? I've been thinking about relocating my subs and your set up is what I want to do. Please post pics or email them to [email protected] Thanks!

Clean installation, looks good. Not for me though, bad enough I have tinnitus in one ear, more boom boom might make me deaf.

I must say it looks great very clean and classy. Also can you post pics of the backside if possible? On a side note do you have pics of your car from the outside with the CF spoilers on it?
