I wish it were the matte finish - the show car is one of the things that turned me on to the XC90 in the first place. This is the same color, but glossy. Love it just the same.Nice color! Congrats. Is this blue a matte finish? I remember seeing it at the ny auto show and thinking it looked matte
Thanks! I may be the first blue, but not the first R-Design. I believe credit for that goes to skitruckmaskin, who took delivery of his Osmium grey not too long ago. He's been quiet lately, no doubt out enjoying his new ride!!Yes looks like it is.

Thanks for the good wishes, all! I'll post up first impressions when I can.
Thanks. I doesn't look quite so glossy because it had just come off the truck and hadn't even been pdi'd, as Chris noted. I've heard about the extra maintenance needed for matte finishes, but am guessing it's probably worth it. Anyway, the glossy blue should look great once it's all cleaned up. First order of business next week is to get the paint opti-coated, as well.Im sure it still looks awesome in gloss finish. Trust me as great as "matte" looks and sounds the actual taking care of it is almost impossible if you dont wash it yourself all the time and or have a specific real detail specialist take care of it for you. I had a matte black g63 amg and my brother sent to hand wash and got the spray wax. Made the matte finish look all blotchy. Had to strip the car with dish soap after to bring the matte finish back. Plus not to mention if it ever got scratched. It's basically needs to be totally re done. Touch up would never work. Either way to make a long story short....im jealous of the color and good luck with it
That color really makes the xc look stunning
