Apologies for being a couple of weeks late on starting this thread. Recently I've seen a couple of posts of people curious to know about the first paid service, what all things are included in the service and how much it should all cost. So decided to open up my most recent Job Sheet and type out all details as they pertain to my MY18 V90CC T6.

Background: I had purchased the Volvo Prepaid maintenance plan from my Dealership a couple of months ago and paid $1,900.00 for seven prepaid services (40k miles to 100k miles) which come to around $270.00 per service. I drive my Vehicle a lot and have put 36,000 miles on it in my first year of ownership (almost all of it is highway driving).

Date of Service: 09/03/2019.
Mileage In: 40,127 miles.
Mileage Out: 40, 129 miles.

Job #1: 02VOZINSPECT: Customer requests complimentary Volvo Vehicle Inspection.
Charges: INTERNAL $0.00

Job #2: 12VOZ: Customer states Driver exterior protective trim piece paint is bubbling.
No TJ# CSC: 2S verified concern and found the finish of door trim bubbled. Removed and replaced the trim piece.
Parts Ordered: Trim mold and Paint.
Charges: WARRANTY $0.00

Job #3: 02VONSOFTWARE: Perform complimentary 2.0 Software Update Valued at $155.00
Charges: INTERNAL $0.00

Job #4: 06VOZ: Customer requests estimate on Transmission Fluid Flush.
The estimate is $525.00 and recommended at 100,000 miles.

Job #5: 02VOZZNCROT: Perform New Car complimentary Tire rotation valued at $29.95.
Charges: INTERNAL $0.00

Job #6: 02VOTLOFSYN7: Customer requests full synthetic oil and filter service scheduled maintenance
Labor = $22.81
Parts [(Castrol 5W30 API SN/CF, ACEA A1/B, QTY: 08, $65.92), (313722212 - Oil Filter, $12.00) and (11998-2 - Gasket, $1.10)] = $79.02
Misc [(DSV010 Service Discount 10%), (DPV010 Parts Discount 10%)] = -$10.18
Charges: $22.81 + $79.02 - $10.18 = $91.65

Job #7: 02VOXFILTER: Replace Air Filter
Labor = $22.00
Parts (31370089 - Air Filter) = $39.95
Misc [(DSV010 Service Discount 10%), (DPV010 Parts Discount 10%)] = -$6.20
Charges: $22.00 + $39.95 - $6.20 = $55.75

Job #8: 02VOXPOLLEN: Replace Cabin Filter. Replace in Dash A/C Micro Pollen Filter
Labor = $40.00
Parts [(31407748-8 Multi Filter $45.00) and (7083V Frigi Fresh $12.95)] = $57.95
Misc [(DSV010 Service Discount 10%), (DPV010 Parts Discount 10%)] = -$9.80
Charges: $40.00 + $57.95 - $9.80 = $88.15

Job #9: VOZZBRAKEFLUS: Perform Brake System Fluid Service maintenance. BG Brake Fluid Flush.
Labor = $94.00
Parts (BG Brake Flush) = $45.95
Misc [(DSV010 Service Discount 10%), (DPV010 Parts Discount 10%)] = -$19.87
Charges: $94.00 + $45.95 - $19.87 = $120.08

Job #10: Maintenance Approved by JM&A through Portal Auth #XXXYYYZZZ. NEC to send/submit paperwork to JM&A for dealership reimbursement. No charge to Customer.

Customer hereby acknowledges receiving an original estimate of $369.00 [$91.65 + $55.75 + $88.15 + $120.88 + $13.37 (tax)]. Customer pays $0.00

Tire Inspection: LF = 7/32", RF = 7/32", LR = 8/32", RR = 8/32".

Battery Condition: Good.

Check Brakes: More than 50% of brake pads (>5mm) on all sides.

So, in summary, I paid $270.00 for a service that would have cost me $370. Frankly, for a 40k mile service (a significant service milestone, IMO) I wouldn't mind paying the full $370.00 had I not bought the prepaid plan. Although I have seen people here being quoted $500+ for the same service and it is plain ridiculous.

Overall, highly satisfied with the service, the brand new MY20 XC90 loaner for a week on which I put 800 miles, my local dealership, my SA, and Volvo's activeness for covering cosmetic stuff under warranty without making any fuss.

Hope this post helps fellow Swedespeeders!

I'm wondering if I should separate some parts like the cabin air filter and the engine air filter. That would save me $60 in labor based off of your quote. Just have them do the oil change, and brake flush. I was quoted $440 for the service. I'll call around. I need it soon.

Yes. I don't see a reason as to why you wouldn't be able to separate them to your liking. Also, I'm almost certain you can order parts off websites cheaper than what is printed in my post. I'm guessing they put the generalized MSRP there.

For ex: The Air Filter cost above is $39.95. A simple google search shows the same part # by Mann for $12.71. Less than 1/3rd of the price!

Yea I may just do the easy stuff myself, no reason to have my dealer do it.

Hi here Pablo, writing from Europe,

Looks like quite reasonably priced TBH.

The only thing that strikes me is that it seems here, in the Old Continent, Volvo uses other specifications for the engine oil -> 0W20 Castrol Performance, which is quite more expensive, but, in theory, it is the most convenient oil for that engine.
