last nite while driving my freind home my poor beloved Volvo had an altercation with a cheap and nasty piece of Japanese crap. Unfortunately for some unknown reason the Toyota came off better than my Volvo.
Some would say it is write off and others would say she'll be rite mate a few new guards and some paint and it wil be as good as new.... but in this situation i think the latter is a bit far fetched....
as if it was only two front guards that need replacing i would be extremely lucky.. but more like the whole front end from the fire wall needs replacing.
but true to its nature and despite that the whole front end now sits a good 18 inches to the right and having the head lights hanging with no glass but still glowing got me home in one piece.
as to its future no body knows but you guys know im a die hard Volvo fanatic and i aint gunna let no Volvo die that easy and especially by some cheap and nasty Toyota Camry................
i shall have some pics of my car up for you guys soon
Michael..

I feel your pain My 245 got crunched by a stop sign running Ford Ranger. $2600+ to repair, fortunately he was at fault so his insurance paid. The trusty Volvo was drivable after the wreck but his was taken away on a flatbed with a completely demolished front axle.

Re: my 242GT smashed!!! ([email protected])

thank god for volvo safety! the women ran a red light as i was turning so i had no way out of it. she hit me in my weakest spot and her strong part...if i had of ran into the side of her i would have only marked my bumper bar.im takeing the car down to work today and were going to see if we can save her...i had a look at another GT for sale yesterday and might be buying it. i have to geta the black strip that runs down the side of the car. since there are no wrecking GT's or 2 doors around hear i might have to see if i can import one from somewere, america, new zealnd or sweadon..dontno yet. this accident has seriously p*ssed me off as i was restoring the car to its forma glory in a couple of weeks..my GT was the most straightest around.....till now..

Oh that blows, sorry to hear about this.
Sounds like the old girl did her job and kept you safe from the red light baron, that is a respectible way to go. I bet the parts can be transplanted if written off, take the insurance money and buy it back for a fraction of the price and use the good parts in your next one.
Hopefully the car can straightened, but that sounds like the frame took quite a hit. Always sad to loose a good car...
