It's finally done! I picked it up Tuesday night. I would have posted pictures sooner but my schedule was packed full.

I really like it, but of course I'm biased. I think this is how it should look from the factory. Let me know what you think.

The cost for the parts was about $900 (about $300 of that was the '05 tail lights) and the painting and labor was about $600.

The car looks spectacular. Overall cost was lower than I thought it would be. I'm pretty surprised that the lights don't cost more than that.

I wonder if the V lights cost the same?

I'll flash my lights if I see you in Gainesville - Im up there every once in a while for some Leonardo's pizza.

That's good pizza! Actually, I'm in Tampa with some regularity. I've been thinking we should have a GTG in Tampa which is the most central location to majority all the Florida R owners.

That looks very nice indeed. I have a F Green V70 R and would love to do the same. My next mod will be a Soft Loader, perhaps after that.

BTW, the front bumper strips are removed to take the front bumper assembly off the car. I wonder how the painted strips hold up to being bent a little with the bumper removal process, assuming your bumper would ever need removing?

Looks awesome! I'm doing the same, debating on getting the bottom plastic painted or not but your car looks much slicker now. How much did it cost for just the painting of the side moldings? Thanks

looks good. I like how you left the bottom black.

Agreed. The lighter colors need a bit of contrast and the black skirting is just enough. Besides, it blends your mudflaps in.

Nice job. http://********************/smile/emthup.gif

That looks really sharp, I think I like that better than the 05s with the bottom painted.... very nice http://********************/smile/emthup.gif http://********************/smile/emthup.gif http://********************/smile/emthup.gif

Without the tail lights, I'm guessing I would have saved $350 or so. So maybe $1200-$1400.

Also, I could have saved money by reusing my '04 parts if I could have done without the car for a while and sanded all the existing parts. I don't have the time and experience to do that well though, so I bought the '05 parts. Only the '04 rear bumper had to be sanded since the '05 is different. Also, the body shop that did it here is awesome.

I like it.

I think I would actually like it better if the bottom black was painted to match and the middle stayed black... hum.

Nice though! http://********************/smile/emthup.gif

Hmm. Interesting idea. I never considered it because when I saw the '05 models in lighter colors, the side profile looked too wide/tall. Therefore I left the bottoms charcoal colored. Also, this hides the dirt a bit and blends with the mud flaps well. O've also seen some Audi's (A4 I think) like this and I liked it.

Looks REAL sharp! That's MY car! (or it would have been if I could have had my titanium in flash green)...anyway I really like your tint job. What kind of film and % did you do?

You're a strange person.
Why would you want those lovely CHEAP black plastic moldings?

I like the way the black in the middle breaks up the lines on the bright colors especially red.
